Boy, oh boy! Things for Band of the Hawk sure doesn't look too bright. And the one who sparked it was Guts! When he left, Griffits was so confused, that he done something really stupid, and that action brought very severe consequences both for him and his band. >< But now Gatsu is going to fix everything, right?

So let's see a year passed, Griffith gets captured by Midland and everything went to hell? How the heck could Griffith allow that to happen?

the first half of this episode was so chill. Every badass needs a loli.
It was really shocking and sad to see what the Band of the Hawks has become with Guts and Griffith gone...poor Casca. Of course, being the badass he is, Guts comes in the nick of time. Wonder how this will play out...

The ending was way different compared to the movie, I guess it was to make the movie more appealing. Seeing the blacksmith was actually nice, it brought things into perspective.

1 year already. He needed a bit of time to think things through and decide what he wants to do while training. It seemed that he didn't come to a conclusion but what sparked him back into action. Was the news that his former group has become bandits.

I can't imagine Griffith will be the same man he was after all that torture. His setback cost him and his group the life he promised them.

Seeing him doing nothing, "philosophizing" about the meaning of his life only to come back to what he used to be... it was rather useless to take so much time for so little near the end.

Calm episode. It doesnt seem like Guts is getting anywhere really except of realizing that he just likes fighting.. it doesnt seem like he tried to do anything else. Curious how changed Griffith will be after this? Perhaps Griffith will forgive Guts after he saves him and they will live happily ever after? Haha. Yeah.. This really wont end well. I feel like this is just a calm before the storm.

I thought this was going to be an OK slice of nothing ever happens episode, but I was proven wrong when the messenger came

Quality episode.

Finally Guts return to the band of the hawks, I want to see what is going to happen to lead to the conclusion

Okay, that didn't go as expected. Guts is wandering, looking for a purpose, while Griffith lost everything he worked so hard for, his ambition, everything, has been shattered. Casca and others are in a pinch as well. Basically, everything's going bad for the crew.

Loved the final sketch-freeze on Guts' face..

"To generate my own sparks even if it's for a fleeting moment"

damn. what an episode.

The first half with Guts alone and his beautiful inner thoughts and coversation with the swordsmith, and the latter half with the fall of the Band. so, Griffis didn't make it :'(

The first half was a bit boring. Guts wins some random tournament. Then he stays with a blacksmith and his daughter, questionmark? He trains by cutting logs that come falling down a waterfall.

Then, by the power of the almighty time-skip, we're one year further and Guts hears that the Band of the Hawk has been spotted. They've been reduced to a band of outlaws once again.

The episode ends with Guts' (admittedly badass) entry onto the scene, when the Band of the Hawk gets attacked during a nightraid. I have to say, it was a bit comical seeing the whole band so defeated. 1 year without Griffith and they're a bunch of sad, depressed soldiers.

So Griffith was probably being tortured for 1 year straight. A high price for a one-night stand. I guess he'll blame Guts for it. Onwards, to the next episode!

This was perfect. I love the band of hawks but man, it was super refreshing seeing guts be pretty much the only focus for the majority of the episode and t was perfect in terms of atmosphere too. Also, I'm glad he came in clutch there

Pretty meh episode, Guts' monologue just seems like a repeat from previous Episode, but its saved by the ending. I feel really bad about the hawks, especially Casca. The fact they seem to be blisfully unaware of what Griffith did makes it even worse considering that Guts was raped and Casca was about to be raped twice. Cant wait for them to find out.

It was Griffith fault for going for the princess, not Guts fault. He has left for good and he seemed happy about his new life. But he never stops at one point. So it's a transitional episode, in the end he comes back to the band of the Hawk, but there isn't Griffith anymore. They are all outlaws, it's sad that the best army is now the enemy for the kingdom.
