Jacob's Ladder is one of the masterpieces that influenced Team Silent to make Silent Hill games.

Tideland is a messed up film, but I don't see it as a mind fuck one. But to speak the truth I do not remember the ending anymore, so I can be wrong.

I can't believe no one mentioned "Seven", "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas", or "Requiem for a Dream". These movies are the very definition of mind fuck. All with crazy twists within the plots, and weird, uneven feels. If you're at all interested in musicals, and/or 70's rock music, you should check out "Pink Floyd's The Wall." That movie has some of the best animation ever. People often recommend it on LSD, I frankly don't care, it's mind fuckish none the less. Also noted, why isn't Sweeney Todd on here yet? What's more distorted and uncanny then a musical about a demented barber who slices at throats. Well, maybe the singing in the rain scene from Clockwork Orange, but after that I'm stumped.

i was just about to scream out loud "requiem for a dream" (the book is also AMAZING!), "sweeny todd" and "clockwork orange". those three are definitely a mindfuck. seven and fear and loathing in LA were mentioned before (i think?). the wall is also a great movie, but not that confusing though.
of course, eraserhead is a classic, a must watch. same goes with butterfly effect (even though the second movie is trash). number 23 was mentioned? that one left me with a peace of paper and a pen, calculating my birth and name.
as for anime movies, was "mind game" mentioned? angel`s egg? perfect blue and paprika are just awesome.

Primal Fear.

That movie is one of the top of the mindfuck list. You can't see that shit coming.
It's only at the very last ten minutes of the movie that you realize that you were completely manipulated the whole time as a viewer.

Anime movies?
Anything, just anything by Satoshi Kon.

Eraserhead, Tetsuo the Iron Man, Videodrome, Naked Lunch and Memento are probably my fave. Anime-wise, I would probably say Paprika is my favorite off the top of my head.

Dream Catcher

lolwut. The Mist and Dream Catcher are basically the only bad and non-psychological Stephen King adaptations. They are not mindfucking in the slightest bit, they're just damn ugly, stupid, and disgusting.
Same goes for Existenz, which someone suggested.

Watching, waiting, commiserating

Sorry if I'm beating an old thread with a fetus, but I heard people throwing around the name Takashi Miike but not mentioning Gozu!!!??!
If you want the mindfuckery of Miike without the gorefest that is Audition/Ichi the Killer than Gozu is for you, though it's still not for the faint of heart. I'm still scratching my head over it but apparently the movie is an analogy to the stages of death and rebirth in buddhism.

I'll definitely be checking out
