| Prefer fast subs, always fun to improve on speed reading. Good OP and ED themes, seems to be a interesting storyline. Will have to see how it progresses. |

| I watched this episode with the worst translation ever. So, they were talking fast, I was trying to understand the subs and trying to see the beautiful animation of this show... I was so confused. QAQ But I think I get the main story and it isn't so hard to differ the present from the flashbacks. I just hope they slow down a bit, because I want to understand all the dialogues, but I guess part of my confusion was the half-assed subs too... Anyway, I really liked it, I already love mangas with a unique art, so I loved finding a anime with a "unique"/different animation too. |

| Problem is, I can keep up with the subs, but I can't pay much attention to the visuals at the same time. For the intended Japanese audience this probably wouldn't be a problem. I don't get all these SHAFT comparisons. Sure, they're both weird, but that's pretty much all they have in common. They aren't really even trying to do the same thing, one being eccentric mainstream and entertainment oriented, and the other being indie-feel with a more artistic focus. Different quirks and foci. I rather enjoyed this episode, though I can't say I've connected to the characters very much yet. I guess we've got 10 episodes to go so there's plenty of time for that. |

| Well, I managed to get the gist of everything but, still, talk about rapid-fire dialogue. I am intrigued by this series, though, and I enjoyed the art style (when I had a chance to really pay attention to it) - it was unique and fit the tone of the show well. |
| The first comment is right: they talk really fast. Especially the main character. If I were to watch it unsubbed, I wouldn't follow what he is saying, not to mention understanding anything. But let's concentrate on the show itself. To be honest, scarcely can you tell much after watching the first episode of a series. In this case, though, the situation is different. By what I have seen so far - and this episode was very fast-paced and had a lot of text - I think I am really going to enjoy watching this series. |

| This anime is hilarious, the interactions between Ozu and the main character are awesome. Also, I could catch up with what they were saying, I'm a quick reader. But they did talk incredibly fast. I kind of liked that though. |

| A strange way to form an episode, lots of talk and especially fast to get all that information in the first episode. The art style is also rather unique and well there do is some slight story development. So I wonder what the whole story has to offer! The ED was rather interesting as well. |

| Wow! What an episode. I admit it took me a few minutes to adjust to that fast speed, but it really got me entertained after awhile. I consider myself to be a pretty fast reader, but those subtitles sure showed me ^o^ I'm really loving the main character right now. He reminds me of Kyon from Haruhi. |

| great episode :D they really talk fast and the animation looks unique on its own right :) after watching Arakawa Under The Bridge X Bridge, hearing Maaya Sakomoto once again is just pure bliss and freaking awesome! she looks chubby when she eats like that XD i watched this because i heard that awesome music in one of the trailers of funimation, so it was actually the ED huh? love the music, so catchy and up beat! i can listen to this all day! can't wait for more episodes! |

| After re-watching this episode, 3 things have become very clear to me. First off, there is no way in hell this anime deserves anything less than a 10/10, my previous rating of 9/10 feels disgustingly inadequate. Second, this is a series that absolutely requires multiple viewings as there is too much you will not notice going through the first time. Lastly, Tatami Galaxy is motherfucking gorgeous. I already knew this of course, but knowing in advance what's going to be said, I can put more focus on the actual animation itself and my god, I can't stop gushing over how beautiful it is. |
| After re-watching the episode, I've to say this anime is a masterpiece, and it must be watched twice to actually appreciate it, I think I'll give this a 10 rather than 9 like davidfresh after finishing it. |

| Damn its like an acid trip. Though I managed somehow without stopping anywhere *feeling proud* Interesting set of characters. The art is noteworthy too. The dialogues are pretty witty too.. 4/5 |

| Dizzying first episode, in both a figurative and a literal sense. Think they crammed more dialogue into one ep than most anime do in their first 3. Of course, being a Sayonara Zetsubou fan I'm now an expert at watching with a finger on the space bar at all times, lol. Definitely getting that this is the sort of show that rewards repeated viewings. Vibrant, offbeat animation; fully formed characters from the word go; intelligent writing - I can tell already this is going to be right up my alley. |
| I was immediately put off by the blazing speed. I can understand a fair amount of anime Japanese and my subtitle reading skills are high tier, but even still it was a struggle to follow. After finishing the episode I thought about this being potentially drop worthy. I decided to give it a couple more episodes before pulling the trigger. Glad i did since the subsequent 2 episodes were easier to digest and intrigued me. I decided to backtrack and rewatch this episode after finishing ep 3, and i can say my rating of it went from a 5/10 (2/5) to something like a 9/10 (5/5, which i will now rate it). Highly impressive visuals, cunning dialogue, great voice actors, and most importantly it's very interesting. My advice is to stay the course for those on the edge and to bear with it, this may have great potential. |
| Brilliant, fast paced, funny, and it looks like shit / it's very artsy. The ending song is great too. If they keep it up this is going in my favorites. |
