| Oh boy what a vibrant beginning. And Maomao is already working with her best abilities. Nice to have 4 episodes at once. Production, direction and animation are all amazing top tier. |

| Pretty good start. Maomao just casually getting kidnapped and accepting her fate felt a little abrupt, but other than that, I don't have any complaints. OLM and TOHO alongside all of the staff that they hired have done a great job making this anime look great. |
| I should have started this sooner. I did not expect to be this intrigued by it. It's just the wonderful production that captivated my attention in the first place. But, the setting and characters are also very interesting. Especially Maomao whose a girl full of knowledge, but in a place where she seems to be only a servant until she kinda exposed herself. Which made her get a promotion to a pretty good role in the palace. Opening and ending are also both visually and audio wise amazing. Also the girls are just 100. |

| So I started this anime because from the PVs I felt like I'd like the main character. Her personality seemed to be my thing. I was right enough. I like her! Maomao has her faults-- her faults straight up had her end up as a servant, but I do like where her heart is. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if her dad is dead by the time she's free.;; But yeah, for the most pat, I have no complaints. I enjoyed this first episode. |
| Can't help but imagine how confused the other servant girls must've been lol. The bigshot eunich calls you and your colleagues in, shows you a paper you can't read, then tells you to leave. Both the colors and the characters' expressions are so vibrant in this, and the setting is pretty refreshing too. Got a good feeling I'll enjoy this. |
| Lots of people seem to be talking about this show, so I decided to check it out. The scenery and art in general for this anime is incredible. The OP goes hard and Maomao seems to be a great protagonist, but I'm going to have to watch more episodes to have a better opinion on the show. |

| If this took place in imperial times how did they know it was a prince before giving birth? Why hasn’t she run away yet 😭 absolutely loving this anime so far. It’s funny at times which I appreciate. The art and animation are very nice too! I can’t believe she got such a big promotion and was dealing with being a servant so mildly. I would’ve tried everything to escape lol |

| Mao's nonchalant attitude is a strange contrast to the world and situations she's living in/was put through. It's a little jarring tbh. Kinda felt like we blitzed through the premise here to get the main story setup. This felt like something that coulda been two episodes, but I don't hate it. Well the series has been highly rated and I was interested in it at the beginning of the season anyway, so I'm looking forward to where it goes. |

| I had seen the trailer for this a couple of months ago and was captivated by the art-style and animation so I put it on my PTW list but because I was already watching so much other anime I delayed starting this one. This was a good start with getting Maomao's backstory and I was a bit surprised with her nonchalant attitude when she was kidnapped. I did notice that there was a very brief flash-forward scene of her being kidnapped when her father told her to be careful so that made me wonder if he was involved or maybe he just figured it would probably happen. Anyway, it looks like this series will have mysteries to solve and Maomao already solved one with the babies getting sick and dying. |
| I began watching this anime on the recommendation of a new friend I made here on MAL, and wow! I'm glad I followed her advice and started watching. The first thing that struck me was the beautiful opening song (and the ED is beautiful too!), and the story seems really interesting! I was curious and decided to check online. I wondered why the white makeup powder was poisonous and found out that, in Ancient China, it used to be made from lead, which we now know is poisonous, but they didn't know that back then. Additionally, their rouge powders and lip colorings were made from cinnabar, which contained mercury—also obviously poisonous. The most shocking revelation was that this marvelous cosmetic skin whitener sourced from...my hometown! Venice! But enough of history now...ahem...back to my first episode impressions. I really loved the main protagonist Mao Mao's personality—strong and cunning! And of course, that eunuch guy was really handsome 😍 I got a bit of a "Dr. Stone," shoujo version vibe watching this first episode: a mix of science, history, and a main protagonist who gets Isekai'd into a different world within her own. I'm looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds! |

| Beautiful animation and interesting MC, but I found quite displeasant the weird time skip and her little to no reaction to the kidnapping. Aside this, the first episode got me hooked. |
| It's a great start. I don't know when I last watch an anime like this, but this is similar to some historical kdramas I watched. It remains to be seen if Maomao will be overpowered. Well, instead of superpowers, she has extensive medical knowledge. So we don't know in every case, she'll be pulling something from her arse or perhaps she'll read a book or meet a mentor that will extend her knowledge. Interesting also that her name is two cats, 猫猫, as in neko-neko. But her name of Maōmaō comes from the character's reading in hanzi instead of kanji. |
| About the PV: What if it isnt poison, maybe its just Eowyns stew? Maomaos lack of excitement about getting kidnapped is crazy, as if it happened to her every other day. Animation wise Toho is cooking. |
