Ah, who could forget Takuji's legendary classroom speech. On that one I definitely agree with you, yeah, it feels directly influenced from Lain. It's the MEDIA!! The End Sky II more life changing and media perspective reshaping on its own than the entirety of Umineko fr.

As for Hanachirasu, it depends on your definition of dark but I don't think it goes to the same extremes that Muramasa does, so it's probably better. Save for one or two scenes, I'd be more worried about the extremely descriptive swordfights haha. Don't expect much though, the appeal is not as strong as Muramasa, but I liked it quite a bit for several reasons, mainly the MC and one certain plot point. Ah man, certainly looks like you have got a lot on your backlog XD Just eight more years of reading VNs and I'll be out of this VN medium shortly too...

Ah, glad to hear that you liked it a lot this time thanks to other works influencing your perspective. I was just joking about End Sky though XD But I really like the visualization and materialization of that concept. This motivated me to give Lain a rewatch too but its unengaging nature is scaring me.

BTW, you can add Meikei no Lupercalia to your VN list. I'm reading through it right now and it's really nice. Surprisingly enjoyable read.

Have you given Lain another chance recently? I may be misremembering but I think you used to have it at a 6. I guess you were able to find meaning in it this time thanks to your visit to The End Sky II.

Muramasa takes the moralizing to a ridiculous level I've never seen before, so I wouldn't be surprised if the fanbase were extremely self-righteous people even if I've never interacted with them. Fata is probably 20x worse in this regard by the way. Not moralizing but in terms of how much it beautifies things. I wasn't the hopeful optimist looking forward to a bright future that it demanded... unfortunately.

Glad the people from Pretentiousland were right for once ^__^

Hahah, hope they catch up to a broken clock soon.

More so it's because you like down to earth content and stories about music. Still, I'd throw all my expectations out of the window before heading into it. It's very good in a way that nothing else is, though you should complete all of it to be able to judge it at all. TBH, I expect a high rating from you for MUSICUS. It's also the kind of story that wouldn't work in any medium but visual novels. It's one of the cases where the elitists landed on something actually good. Which is a rarity, honestly, with them being quasi illiterate.

Lately I've been trying to check something less underground btw

Ah, I see that you've started your secret weekly No Game No Life rewatch. NGNL, I knew it for a while. Still, that's one excellent anime. What have you been checking out BTW?

I had to put in a simple work to balance the complex one that incorporates quantum physics. One represents the heights of human intellect: science, and the other is a visceral experience about human primitivity and grumbling... Well we gotta show that monkey side here and there once a while.

BTW I've sat on it for a while and I think MUSICUS is certainly a visual novel you'd want to read.

First and foremost, I like it. I like its presentation more so than the actual story or characters. Not sure what's make of it at the moment.

I see I see. Thanks. An acquaintance has been pushing me to watch it for so long and he shamelessly tricked me to watch it by saying it was similar to YouJitsu. I'm now in the process of watching Railgun T before going back to finish Index S3. I like it. I really enjoy Misaka, Accelerator and Gunham. It's closer to Fate than to COTE 😭 I guess I should have asked you.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
