| I can't believe Okita is ranked 5th!! He's no stronger then the likes of ippo's opponents! Even Sendo looks stronger then him! haha At the end where they were staring each one down was hilarious! haha |

| Eh, wasn't a fan of this. The build-up was less and the match was so short, so the stage and atmosphere for this watch weren't half as good as the other matches. Okita seemed a bit weak, too. I'm pretty sure Sendo/Mashiba/Miyata would've wrecked him. Ippo v. Date, though... now that will be a good match. |

| Okita took the lead, he was a good fighter. But when he failed his corkscrew, that's where he lost. He was completely submerged after that. I wonder if his next fight will be Date or he'll try some weaker guy before. I think he'll go immidiately for Date. |

| Okita was actually a pretty good fighter, he just underestimated Ippo in the beginning which came back to bite him in the ass during that last exchange. |

Oh well, every long-ish series has minor hiccups. |

| i gotta take a break from binge watching this. it's getting too repetitive (still entertaining though) i'm just getting kind of tired of all his opponents getting up all the time. and they're always such close matches each time this anime was great at first but now i'm kind of seeing the repetitive predictable cycle if this continues for 1000+ chapters please don't tell me his opponent right away will be Date and that he'll actually win or put up a great fight. because there's just no way that's realistic even for this anime |

| Ippo sure has come a long way since he started 2-3 years back. I don't think Ippo would win a match against Date as he is now, despite Date not being in his prime, the level difference is too big. |

| Okita might've only lasted for one round but he showed an intense tenacity that can only be seen from someone who had been through so much to get where he's at. He's a copycat yet he was powerful enough to push Ippo so deep into a corner that he nearly lost several times too. It's great that Date postponed his world title venture for Ippo but he's a menacing one. |

| okita was seriously spineless, really don't like his attitude, as date himself stated. anyway, this match felt as the writer needed to give ippo fast development than going the long-boring way. |
