Mixed feelings on the finale. It didn't feel much a conclusion...just another chapter of human emotions.

I wish this had more to go on although it was quite a thrill ride.

To clarify the ending, it wasn't actually a movie. In fact, Togata explained that she believed the heaven to be like a movie theater, that's why the last scene. Nice touch tho

I'm glad, they were able to reunite at the end. Luna said 'they chatted for awhile', though her metric of measurement should be pretty skewed after being alive for million of years.

I can't imagine how many centuries it took for Agni to climb up the tree to get to Luna, after the earth got destroyed into pieces. Though the fact that his OP regenerative ability kept him alive for million of years as well, was impressive.

Well, this whole manga was brilliant.

A bit too nihilistic for my tastes (especially the ending), but good god, what a ride.

Certainly one of the most unique and unpredictable manga I've read in a loooong while.

I think I understand the whole plot (or at least most of it) too. But hell if I'm not glad that I picked this one up finished. This would be so crazy confusing to read weekly.

How do I even rate this manga, seriously. I can't really find many things that I read that come close to the fuckery we got here, and I've read a lot of other crazy fuckeries in manga before. This is like a nonsensical insane ride that actually makes complete sense within its own absurd logic, and hell if it doesn't go wild with it from start to finish in the most bizarre ways one could imagine.

By its own indescribable merits, I'll have to go with a 9/10 for now, it blew me a away in many ways (gotta say tho, this author has to watch a bit less movies, as I fear for his sanity as well lol).

Some people say it should have had less incestuous elements too, but it does make a lot of sense given the setting and the very first chapter. Hell, the whole world is also insane and full of atrocities, especially the cult at the beginning, every single bit of absolute madness in this manga somehow make sense in a very twisted way, given the context of the whole thing.

Crazy goddamn ride indeed, they don't make quality weird manga like this anymore.

But, the real question is...

*deep breath*
HOW THE HELL WAS THIS GENIUS PIECE OF TWISTED MESS PUBLISHED UNDER SHOUNEN JUMP'S NAME. JUST HOW, SERIOUSLY, THAT'S THE REAL QUESTION. I'VE SEEN SOME COMPLETELY SCREWED UP SEINEN MANGA THAT DON'T EVEN ARRIVE AT THIS ONE'S FEET, IT'S PARTICULARLY IMPRESSIVE THIS WAS PUBLISHED IN A SHOUNEN MAGAZINE, AND THAT BEING JUMP OF ALL THINGS, IT'S JUST UNBELIEVABLE LOL
*deep breath*

Aaaaanyway, I guess, I'm gonna look forward to any manga that will come from this author starting from today.

Shueisha Jump was always this crazy.. they always try to poking forbiden line lot of times, hence why they also has the most restrection compare to other shounen magazine.... remember weekly shonen jump ever made nationwide riot because they literaly publishing mild porn in shounen magazine... they don't stop made it until the goverment forced them to do so... author which is the infamous go nagai, even go all out protets by killing all of character!

now this particular series in shounen jump app, not the magazine that has heavy restriction... editor probably like "why not? we are not in magazine anyways".... and there you go...

I can't even make a difference between luna and judah anymore. What i didn't understand is.. Was judah remember who she was? I mean her character changed suddenly i didn't even see her as judah anymore, eventhough her memory was back not even a shred of judah character i saw in her.

I kept getting Wolf's Rain vibes from this as soon as the ice age reveal happened. Glad to know it also ended in a similar existential-esque fashion. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought, especially since the only thing I knew is its score isn't great, so I had lower expectations going in. I still can't believe I finished it in one go.

Only one main topic remains, what was up with the Luna lookalikes (San, ice witch, and Judah)? As for Agni, were Togata and Nenetto also supposed to be sorta clones of him? Is that a reference to something (like Adam and Eve)?

In the world of shitty tropes we live in - this is one of the few gems which give heat to our world.

Seriously though, fire punch was absolutely amazing... a 'shounen' which is actually better than most of the latest seinen releases combined.
Paired with how 'unique' manga feels - it's not too far from the 'masterpiece' tier. It does feel like it lacks something compared to real masterpieces, but it's very close up there.

Had rather low expectations since it's marked as shonen and I thought it's yet another happy go lucky story but boy am I glad that I can be so wrong at times like these. Pretty much was on the verge of skipping it altogether.

Fire punch seems to be so simple yet has such a deep meaning. The authors who can reach this equilibrium truly deserve to be added to the actual hall of fame.

The base story itself is pretty simple and suits even casual audience looking for action - the action is plentiful and the scenes are pretty enough for it to be better than average shounen in terms of fighting scenes.

The amount of philosophical meaning behind the series is enough to satisfy any enthusiast as well. In conclusion I must say that this manga will suit nearly any type of audience, providing they do not mind unusually gory scenes for a shounen.

Overall a great manga, a very solid 9/10 from me, will be looking forward to see if the author can ever match the greatness of this manga in his career again.

Enjoyed the fact that in the world where manga gets mostly milked for money as long as it's at least remotely popular - author was not afraid to go through with it from start to finish how he wanted to, without unneeded extending. My respect.

Nice one, i just notice it and whoa whoa whoa, even though they keep mentioning that their face were look a like, feels like mindblow here.

It's kind of an irony when Agni reborn or should i say rescued by the power of Luna(Judah here) after final battle againts Sun, and then Nenetto give him a name Sun. Where the real Sun admire Agni so much to the level of that crazy occult fanatic. But i just like to slip it aside, given that that's a new start for Agni(i mean Sun) with new fresh life and with fresh mental health to live on, no more vengeance and hate as he live with the name of Agni.

It's so nice ending where Sun(Agni) and Luna(Judah) finally meet each other after billion years of nothingness to spend time together and finally sleep.

also didn't quite get the face resemblance of Judah-Luna-Surja-Sun and Agni-Neneto-Togata-Twins?? can speculate those were like two original "generations" coming from agni and luna in the end (if the story is circled)

I'm glad something came of Togota's camera footage too. I'm sure everyone remembers the "movie" arc of this manga. I always wondered what would come of it. And when Togota died, I thought "Surely the footage she filmed will resurface later on?" I don't know if I'm satisfied with Agni watching it in total confusion and without sound, lol. But it gave me some closure.

I never would've thought the manga would end like this. These last two chapters, damn. Two people suffering an eternity alone in space. So vastly different than the beginning chapters.

And I wonder why Agni didn't end up taking the pill? Or maybe he did and nothing happened? And so he ended up watching the fall of humanity?

Any who, I think I realized that -- of ALL the Blessed people -- Judah and Agni ... who eventually started going by Luna and San ... are the only Blessed people capable of being permanently regenerative, hence why Agni could remain on fire forever throughout this manga. These two lifeforms lived an eternity in space simply because they were the only Blessed humans who possessed regenerativity of such strength. Maybe we could call their Blessing "immortality"?

I'm not really even sure what is implied to have become of the original Luna who was Agni's sister. Did she really die as a child? And if so, why was Judah nearly identical to Luna? Was it a coincidence? And through this coincidence, Judah just happened to assume the role of Agni's sister overtime due to insanity?

This manga truly possesses anything and everything. Such vast themes crammed into just 83 chapters. Just like everyone else, I truly don't know what I just read.

I wonder if this is a conclusion I can be satisfied with.

That was one hell of a ride. I kinda wish there was more closure for some characters throughout the story. Like the bat dude and the eyepatch woman. They just kinda died abruptly from the tree... I thought we were gonna delve into their back stories more. Especially the eyepatch woman. And ESPECIALLY that masked guy who was only in his underwear. Like who tf was that. I also felt the ending could have been drawn out more. It just went by so fast. But regardless it was a very enjoyable read. I would totally be down for an anime even though that’s probably not going to happen. And now I immediately read Chainsaw Man XD. Maybe Chainsaw man will get one since most Shounen Jump manga get green lit for one lol.

I noticed Luna did not take away Agni's regen powers. I like to think it is because she hoped Agni would come after her at some point.

It seems like at the end universe had something like a heat death, signified with a white background. You could probably swim through universe at that point, that is how Agni reached Luna. It is hard to comprehend though.

The author's both works are mostly only about the main characters. He does not care about the side characters.

It was a promising story at start but things took a weird turn. The author put us in a roller coaster, and threw it off a cliff. I wish it was a controlled ride instead, but well... it was a good ride anyway.

This was a crazy and interesting ride, it was fucking awful and the writing was just all over the place, but it was a entertaining awful that wasnt just ironic watching but rather kind of appreciating alot of the ideas and scattered moments of quality buried in the mess. It is a tad fustrating cause with a better execution this could of been a great series genuinly, but it felt so rushed and being too disjointed to really accomplish that.

I'm glad I read it, but yeah this shit was a mess

Not gonna lie. It was a great ride. But things could have been better in the ending. The things about how a post apocalyptic world might look like and stuff was good (TWD feels).the mixture of supernatural along with sci fi was good too. But it was a bit messy after chapter 50. Still good one. Gonna throw a 8/10.

This story reminded me of Lisa: The Painful.

I also feel kinda good that Agni/San and Judah/Luna get some sort of "happy ending" after all the shit they got through.
Also I love the idea of heaven being a huge movie theatre!

I'm still not sure if I should give it an 8 or a 9...
Still, I'd reccommend it either way.

I still need some time to digest that emotional rollercoaster that is Fire Punch but I just wanted to say I really did enjoy the story, the philosophy and the art. The story definitely isn't for everyone and frankly took me some time to properly understand each chapter. Nonetheless, I am in awe with this mangaka's work.
A little side note, I really liked how Agni becomes San and Judah becomes Luna in the end (both names meaning Sun and Moon, which fits how they both died in space together)

Actually, this was at least published in Shounen Jump+, while Chainsaw was published in the regular Shounen Jump. Imagine reading the magazine and jumping from the likes of Haikyuu or BNHA to that.
