I recently realized, that Gintoki is also a True Warriors, just like Thorfinn.
That's why he uses a wooden sword and never kills humans.

I sure think so. Though I wouldn't really enforce that idea since a.) opinions vary heavily between people and b.) I haven't consumed every single piece of media in existence across time and space. So yeah, technically the title is inaccurate but for me at least, he is one of the greatest out there.

Well, yeah, im thinking of giving it another chance but not anytime soon, I’ll watch when i feel like watching it, not gonna force myself to watch it in the hope that it gets better later.

If someone came to me and told me Gintoki is the greatest character of all time, I genuinely wouldn’t have a problem with that, as I can see why they would think so.

However, imo there’s no goat character. It’s simply “your favorite character”

Not every shonen mangaka is brave enough to portray their main character as a lazy/loser kind of person. Gintoki doesn't force his way into the world like most characters. He isn't trying to be the best, he doesn't even want to. He just wants to live peacefully, he takes everything easy and he doesn't blame himself for getting used to stuff, and I find that deeply relatable. So, yes, I personally think he is the best character I have ever seen.
edit: Now I feel embarrassed saying all that with a Gintama pfp XD don't mind me I'm just being a huge fan here

Yes, Gin is probably my favorite character. But, since Gintama is a comedy, I’ve got to say: over the years, Hasegawa made me laugh out loud more than any anime character ever.

Yes, I love the fact he will just run away when needed but will stand his ground when things are really going down.

Plus he is relatable too, the line when he became a woman cracked me up, wiping away a tear in the eye after coming out of the bathroom "it's been so long since I've seen one".
