God this episode was one hell of an emotional roller coaster
ana's death was hella sad :( and seeing merlin go sucked
yeh they didnt hold back on the gore and violence the Lahmu caused, personally i thought it was a nice touch. But DAMN their voices are pure nightmare fuel, gave me flash backs to the nursery rhyme arc in Last Encore
will admit that drop kick from Quetzalcoatl was magnificent, will also admit when finding who the Lahmu was wasn't as magnificent.

The show really didn't prepare you for this dark turn due to how everything is so lala land and no-one dies in the first half. (Except with the Gorgon encounter). But nonetheless I'm much more intrigued with this show after ep 15.

Because it was written to bait and switch you in the game, which was surprisingly too calm after Camelot was dark from the start (the melancholy map tune is very unforgettable). Though it took a bit too long to get there, unfortunately.

I love this show but it’s hard to watch. There’s so much going on it becomes hard to process it all.

ok, can someone explain to me when Merlin did that whole dreams thing with Tiamat?
And shouldn't Merlin have known what would happen if they killed Gorgon because his spell is directly responsible, apparently?

Since he arrived months before Chaldea arrival, that's why he isn't very active and tells Roman he's busy elsewhere and Roman was "I knew it" because he figured out Merlin was being strange. That's why he wanted to avoid being knocked unconscious. Merlin was with Tiamat in the cage of dreams, all along, and when she awoke, she killed him (incubus are weak when the dreamer realize they are dreamer) so this made him disappear from that era.
Don't worry, his Avalon self is fine.

Kingu made him think Gorgon only had a fake authority to be used as Pseudo Tiamat, so she had to be put down or would overrun everything with demonic beasts. Instead what happened was that he used the Grail to synchronize her with the sleeping Tiamat, so her death was sensed/experienced by Tiamat which was enough to awake her. Tiamat was dormant as far as he knew.

He and Gilgamesh could have explained this to Chaldea, but oh well, but thought (wrongly) they could deal with her. Anime cut this, but Roman asked things constantly about Tiamat because he could sense something was wrong and Merlin was dismissive and assured him "it's gonna be ok" that she was just a goddess. A goddess can be dealt with, but a Beast is on another level.

A bit of speculation about Merlin's carelessness:

they should have left that in imo
that would've been good dialogue

No problem. I also edited it with speculation of Merlin's behavior. That's just me wondering if he wasn't in denial to make such failure of judgment instead of just arrogance.

was this in an episode? and what was the Merlin walking around then?

He can send a very convincing illusion/dream of himself that can pass as a Servant. He's just very powerful. Merlin's 'real' body in that era was in a dream, but he was synchronized with the one walking around with you. He never display a lot of power because his actual focus was on Tiamat.

Roman and Merlin interacted a lot in the game. Usually they talked lore things together, Merlin teasing Roman with Roman getting pissed at him like those harem tsunderes. Gil and Roman did too, although nowhere as much first. The three were supposed to give the impression of acting like "old co-workers" but the anime just cut this because we need to have the Fujimaru do things and talk instead which was very boring since he has a zero appealing personality no matter what they do with him (game wise, he/she-depending of the gender you use- is mostly a camera POV that has barely dialogue options so Mashu and Roman do most Chaldea talking in Babylonia).

Oh Hell No! Fuck those Lahmu things! Such creepy ass creatures/new humans indeed.

What a roller coaster of an episode this was. Shit really went down this time with so much despair and deaths happening left and right.

Ana vs. Gorgon fight wasn't as long as I expected but it was satisfying enough. Guess it's not that "difficult" to deal with her once you have the perfect counter (Ana) and Perseus' weapon at disposal.
By the way, I expected Ana to die alongside Gorgon but I wish the scene was more... emotional. I mean, Medusa's background is quite tragic and I liked how well they handled it by using just a few cuts but I don't know... her dying wasn't as impactful as I would have wished. At least for me tho.
The same goes for Merlin disappearing out of nowhere as well. They should have explained his deal with Tiamat because the scene felt a bit anticlimactic.

But anyways, other than that, I still really liked the episode. Especially the chaotic second half with Tiamat's awakening and the introduction of the Lahmu. And of course, not to mention that finding out about Siduri's fate was quite the shock as well. At first, I didn't get what happened considering I didn't know people could turn into these "new humans" creatures but thankfully, some of the comments here gave me enough info. Really sad what happened to her indeed.

Siduri were the main plot of this episode. Why!!! My kokoro is hurt...

So...that Lahmu we players had to battle against in-game was ...

Man, I got say...I love this ending song.

God damn it! why 3 of them! WHY TAKE 3 OF THEM IN A SINGLE FCKING EPISODE... I wasn't ready for the Ana thing let alone the Merlin and Sidori one too... those new human thingy reminded me so much of the FMA:B one, just as eerie and creepy.
Just what I was thinking... all three of them gone for good..

OH MY GOD. In just one episode, they went from servant fighting scene to a real disaster.

Ana and Gorgon fight scene is shorter than I expected. I like their history and relationship. Ana is Gorgon’s younger self, the dream which Gorgon has already forgotten. Ana killed Gorgon with Perseus’s scythe, which is the weapon that killed herself.

Then Gorgon’s death awakes Tiamat, Beast II, Primordial Goddess, and Merlin fade-away in process.

And the disaster begins. Lahmu, new human, whatever they are, kill Mesopotamian people. And a lot more cruel things. Their laugh chills me everytime they delete all of my servant’s buffs... oops sorry that is in-game joke.

They are even stronger than other beasts attacking Fujimaru’s group in first ep. the number is overwhelming and their nature is unreasonable.

We got to see two goddesses pissed off. They really are. I am, too. I love Mesopotamian citizens so much because their value in life is pure and beautiful. Siduri waving white flag according to Ishtar’s advice her to learn how to do it breaks my heart.

Story aside, There’s been very nice explanation comments in this forum and I recommend you to read them if you are confused in the story.

And will we get a recap episode next week? I think the next recap will be the last one, and maybe we will get a new op.
Enjoy your day sometimes.

This Anime is one big roller coaster ride!

The only thing that bothered me about this episode:
Why didn't Gilgamesh move his ass off the throne to defend the people?
got that impression because we only saw him sitting in the throne room...

Because defending them in the ziggurat is the best option.Running around in the city wouldnt do much.

Also if he dies its over for everyone.

the same reason why he's been sitting on the throne for nearly the entire series so far. he knows that the best use of his skills would be using his clairvoyance to micromanage the city since he knows what needs to be done by whom. having thousands of people perform their assigned duties will get more done than him doing everything himself

"I like young-girl sexual creations, Lolicon is just one hobby of my many hobbies," he says.
I ask what his wife, standing nearby, thinks of his "hobby".
"She probably thinks no problem," he replies. "Because she loves young boys sexually interacting with each other."

At last I finally got the free time to watch this episode.

Ah... after 14 episodes of setup, we're finally at the endgame. I'm not gonna lie even when playing the game, Babylonia was just so so for me as a singularity but this whole shit with Tiamat saved it for me.

Beautifully-done episode. They did Ana justice.

Not gonna lie, Siduri made me fucking cry wtf. It was already sad in the game but seeing her animated pretending to wave a white flag fucking hurts so much.

Can't wait for the rest of the episodes to be animated.!

Yup. Ana vs gorgon fight is so short after all the build up they build. Altho dissastisfied, i can understand why tho, a lot of explaination about tiamat, beast and so on needed so they cut the action scene. But goddamn, the siduri one, I've reread countless times the babylonia chapter but the anime really successful in making the siduri moments.....ughh my heart, soul i thought it was alrdy crushed to pieces now into tiny bits

The Lahmu are even creepier here than in the game. Seeing them shred the poor people of Uruk to pieces was truly frightening.

Absolutely love how they did the Siduri scene here, though. A good call-back to a much earlier episode, which makes it all the more sadder.

I think they should have expanded on Merlin's explanation regarding his sealing of Tiamat before he disappeared. A very important exposition that is needed to understand the current situation.

Finally it's getting a bit more interesting! Creepy creatures (Laḫmu) for sure; somewhat reminds me of Berserk's eclipse because of how bizarre and strange they are. I was also expecting them to disobey Enkidu, as they were just... uhh, let's say abhorrent in nature! I was certainly not wrong.

WHAT? I already expected that Ana was going to disappear while Merlin was somewhat likely because of his talk with Gil in ep 14 but Sidori becoming that thing was something I didn't expect.

Enkidu is probably still alive, I don't think he'll be defeated so easily.

Say what you will but the first part with Gorgon/Ana was rather good. Even though it still baffles me that they needed to hint the story of Medea's story and her sisters for the first time here in this spin-off, simply because even after all those years the original FHA sequel still wasn't made any justice.

But the second part with unknown enemy beast threat was utter asspull. Felt like they are adding shocking massacre just for the sake of the shock. I feel this series ends in ultimate trainwreck (we even know Ushiwakamaru still waits for her time).

I still wonder how come the original Tsukihime and both Fate/Stay games were so go while all subsequent spin-offs and F/GO is pure example of bad writing. Seems like Nasu has really lost his shine over the years, he can even come up with good villain.

What do you mean aspull?

We know since ep 8(if not 7) that Gorgon isnt the real Tiamat. Merlin even hints that he shouldnt lose consciousness, and we see here why.

Ana seems to prioritize her attacks on the boob, probably because it's gigantic.

Tiamat resembles that annoying director(whatever her name is) who's been burned to crisp.

- Anna is one of the three sisters. Makes sense
- Fight against Gorgon went very quick. I doubt it’s over.
- Merlin disappears?
- The Lahumu are very creepy
- Kingu may turn good? Possible redemption arc
- Gorgon is back, of course.
- Kingu stabbed???? Very surprising
