Joe as he said himself had little to no motivitation to fight Leon but once he got teh news about Jose vs Gomez, and Jose's message to him he got enthusiastic about it. Obvious 5/5. The animation is just out of this world. |

| It's episodes like these where Joe feels more mature than when he started. He internalizes his problems rather than violently venting, he recognizes his own issues, he gives thanks when people try to help him, and he respects those that show him respect. He's willing to put in hard work, as well as to take time and study his opponents. His biggest problem, as far as boxing is concerned, is that he needs to stay motivated by a strong rival who recognizes his talents. Otherwise, he loses interest and slacks off. |
| Just as the match started, there was a snippet of a familiar song, Finger Dancin' by Masayoshi Takanaka. It was released the year of the series and it, along with other songs of his, was also heard in Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku. Funnily enough, a couple of months ago the Youtube algorithm started suggesting his 70s albums to people who had listened to certain type of jazz. I don't know how well known he was or is, but his instrumentals seem to have left their mark on some high profile anime of the time. |
| earlier posters were calling Leon cocky ,, but is it not cocky of Joe to look past his opponent and hap-hazardly train ? they say Leon is the most obnoxious , but he views himself as a king and carries himself as such that's what makes Jose so commendable . So far he's the only one who carries himself with complete class , even Joe the MC is a loose cannon |

| 1. Man the sountrack is so good, especially midnight blues 2. Starting to love the Jose and Joe relationship 3. That eye shot at the end was a little worrying. Joe might have injured his eye for the rest of the match |
