According to ANN, after Takamura's fight there will be 4 episodes (spinoff) about Kamogawa past.

More info: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-02-06/mamoru-miyano-plays-young-kamogawa-in-hajime-no-ipoo-rising-specials

So we could predict that ending of series will be filler and Takamura's fight will end in 21st episode probably.

Oh so they are animating it! Fantastic, it was actually meant to be at the start of this season, he goes to visit Neko's place where they have a shrine for a girl they both loved to tell her he finally won the world title, so obviously he's going to do it after this title fight. I'm glad they are doing it!

Nice, I'm glad they are animating it, I still remember it vaguely from when I read part of the manga years ago when I thought we'd never get a sequel to the first series.

Kinda sad though that both of their VAs died already.

Miyano Mamoru (if they dub it, then Brad Swaile has to play young Kamogawa) seems really strange to me to play young Kamogawa but I look forward to it. I like to see how Ralph Anderson sounds as well. But it would effectively set up Ippo's next fight IMHO.

Also, this should have been the season finale to New Challenger since in the manga it takes place after the Hawk fight (and it introduced a young Miguel Zale). But it is nice to see the original director is doing it.

So episodes 22-25 will be a spinoff?

If so that's cool. I can finally start the show and marathon up to episode 21.

Well it's in the manga from what I remember. So I don't know if it would be correct to call it a spinoff, they just moved it.

"Spin-off" isn't really the right word to use since this is important backstory for both Kamogawa and Nekota. It'll be a shame if people decide to skip this.

In the manga the story was told after Takamura's fight against Hawk, but there wasn't enough time in the NC anime. And with how much the music and all improved in Rising I'm kinda glad about that.

This is what really bums me out. Although they both have different voice actors in their younger years, it just won't be the same as I expected when I first read the story. Too bad...

Yeah, i hope people won't skip this. Kamogawa and Nekota's past is pretty damn tear jerking imo

But wow, Mamoru Miyano as young kamogawa..
