New episode of Beamcast is out. After missing last week, we come to you this week bearing double the manga discussion in a massive 3 hour show. With the notable exception of Psyren, every single manga we cover had a chapter released. Not only that, we have two one shots (Moonwalker LTD and Kintoki) and a new series (Gate 7) on the docket as well.

This week's poll is one we've wanted to have for some time, it's just that it has taken some time to narrow down the list; sidekick characters. Who among the list of characters we've selected makes the best backup to the main character of his respective series?

New episode of Beamcast is out. This week, we discuss chapters of Good Ending that were, for once, good, and lament the presence of way too many non-dead people in the latest chapter of Naruto. Also, for a series headed for cancellation, it must be said that Psyren is doing a truly impressive job of wrapping up its plot.

The Beamcast crew has a policy of only covering current shonen series. There's plenty of rationale behind that decision, but it does deprive us of the opportunity to discuss excellent shonen series, such as Sket Dance and Cage of Eden that aren't current in their scanlation releases. For those of you who do follow those less-current series, which one would you most like to see caught up?

New episode of Beamcast is out. This week, we spend a show-record 6 minutes on just how bad the most recent chapter of SWOT was. Also, timeskips seem to be the vogue this week, with both Bleach and Kimi no Iru Machi pulling one off, to varying degrees of effectiveness.

The current poll is about sports manga. We're not asking about specific manga, but rather which sport you think adapts best into manga. We limited ourselves to sports that have at least 2 relevant manga to their name: baseball, basketball, boxing, soccer, and tennis. If you're any kind of sports manga fan, we'd love to hear your opinion on this one!

New episode of Beamcast is out. This week, we have some shocking news; History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi has gone two whole chapters with one total page of fanservice, and we are loving it. The new additions to the tier list are all about huge hulking power, though perhaps no other is quite so large as Oars of Thriller Bark villainy fame, although absolutely no one beats Dio Brando in fabulousness.

Sket Dance, one of our most beloved shonen comedies, is finally getting an anime. For our weekly poll, we take a look at what other 100+ chapter series that haven't been animated yet most deserve one. Options are Bloody Monday, Code: Breaker, Kimi no Iru Machi, Mixim 11, Psyren, and Yankee-kun to Megane-chan. If you branch out a little in the manga you read, you've probably encountered at least one, so be sure to make your voice heard!

New episode of Beamcast is out. This week, we encounter the surprising news that Level E, a manga by Togashi of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter fame, is getting a Studio Pierrot anime. The manga has already been finished, so no need to fear it going on hiatus. In the absence of new characters from either of the Big Two jump manga to tier, we put Magellan from One Piece and Hyuuga Neji from Naruto up on the board. In manga this week, Toriko introduces us to perhaps it's most punny ingredient yet: strawberrice.

As some of you may already know, Jump recently started releasing a series of oneshots from various "legendary" mangaka. The title is deserved, as each of them is behind at least one big success. So, our question to the readers is this: which out of these six is your most favorite author? If you've heard of this Akira Toriyama guy, anyway. Apparently he did Dr. Slump back in the 80's or something...

New episode of Beamcast is out. And also long. Enjoy listening to the crew rant about lots of questionable chapters; momentum-killing fanservice in Fairy Tail, inexcusable fanservice in History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, comparatively acceptable fanservice in Defense Devil (which I am also now caught up on), and shaved heads in One Piece. There were decent chapter out this week as well, and we cover them too.

We started covering 4 more anime from this new fall season: Bakuman, Shinryaku Ika Musume, To Aru Majutsu no Index II, and The World God Only Knows. We'll certainly be covering all of them, and it'll be interesting for us to know which of that coverage people will be paying the most attention to, so go ahead and vote!

New episode of Beamcast is out. Sorry we're a day late, but scheduling was tough this week. With Naruto off and One Piece just getting back this week, we take another probe into their histories, coming up with a fun character and an *ahem* "relevant" one (Inuzuka Kiba and Buggy the Clown, respectively). Late recording this week also allowed us to pick up a lot of double chapters from series, which is fun, but much more hilarious is the fact that Jean read a pair of those double chapters in reverse order. Which one? You'll just have to find out!

This week's poll has a similar theme with last week's: which Naruto arc did you enjoy the most. Our panelists had an interesting split on this questions, so we're really eager to see where our listeners fall. Don't leave us hanging - go vote!

New episode of Beamcast is out. The tier list takes a trip down memory lane this week, as we do 3 classic characters, including Vegeta and 3 that just haven't shown their faces in a while, including Naruto fan-favorite Nara Shikamaru. Also this week, we finish coverage of two summer season anime Seitokai Yakuindomo and High School of the Dead, and Kekkaishi starts banking 6 years of relationship buildup.

One Piece is finally back this week! Well, this coming wednesday, anyway. Before we get served up with another awesome arc, we ask you what your favorite One Piece arc thus far was. If you read and like One Piece, bring your opinion to the poll party and go vote!
