Grand Blue

Similar art style, practicly identical style of humour. There are connections to school life (one high school and other university). And of course there is very prominent adult humour (although in Prison School it is much more - hardcore would be best way to describe it). 

EXACT same type of comedy, if you're a fan of Grand Blue, you'll surely enjoy Prison School as well. 

Both have the similar style of slap-stick comedy. The comedy where they get extreme reactions to trivial things. They both contain a flavor of romance although the setting is not different. Both have a big cast of characters with each one of them given good character development. Voice acting is also superb in both. 

Both shows are filled with characters that tend to get themselves into silly situations and rely heavily on over exaggeration/faces for comedic purposes 

The animation of the character's expressions are very exaggerated for comedy purpose and both have similar humor 

They're equally funny, so if you liked Prison School you'll also like Grand Blue. OBS: The stories are very different, the only common fact is the comedy

IF you enjoyed grand blue you will 100% be interested and have an amazing time watching prison school , the humor could literally make you piss yourself , its basically just an anime you could watch if you want to smile and laugh through the entire show . 10/10

They have very similar types of humour so if you liked Grand Blue, theres a very high chance that you will enjoy this anime just as much.

They are both an absolutely comedy climax for everyone who see them. We can also highlight that they have a good plot and a great "plot". 

I originally watched Grand Blue and was looking for something with the similar raunchy comedy. Not a lot of shows really felt the same to it. But then I found Prison School. They both are absolutely absurd and have plenty of moments where I was to the brink of tears from laughing so hard. I highly recommend both if you are looking for a show that holds nothing back, and has extremely crude humor.

Grand Blue and Prison are very similar in their humor and artstyle. Very good and refreshing comedy that's not that influenced by Japanese culture. Incredibly over-the-top, both can make you laugh with the ridiculousness of its chapters 

Strongly recommend you go and watch Prison School if you liked Grand Blue (and vice versa)! I enjoyed both, tremendously. If you're the crazy type that's okay with homoerotic humor, male nudity and bizarre situations - do yourself a favor and watch it too. You won't regret! 

Both have similar Art and Animation Style. Both Anime will make you laugh on Absurdity. Also The Male Lead is surrounded by Weirdos in both Anime.  

Both use very similar comedy with facial expressions, and Visual comedy. Very different plots, but if you laughed at one of them, you will laugh at the other. 

Both series follow the stories of a bunch of boys always getting themselves dragged up in some of the most unimaginable circumstances. Over exaggerated humor, reactions and even fanservice lays the foundation of that goldmine of a comedy these two series have. Also bear in mind that over-exaggeration is a compliment here. If you've liked one, most probably you'd love the other one too.

These anime will make you laugh so hard, they had a pretty a good storyline they make a serious face when things are about to be funny, although you might experience some ecchi, well if your use to ecchi then I recommend these. 

Both of these hilarious seinen anime have a shit ton of visual and dialogue-heavy comedy 

Both got the same taste of comedy, really over-the-top funny (I find Grand Blue funnier), MC kinda looks the same, got a plot going on, school is in the background of the plots, a club/committee is there, and finally got some funniest characters you'll ever see.  

Both anime have very similar art styles and overall comedy styles to each other. Of course one takes place in School and the other in University but it is easy to notice how similar they are to each other.  

Both these shows rely on similar types of humor, the main being: misunderstandings, and reaction humor. I'd say that both are equally good and if you like one it's a guarantee you'll like the other. The only difference is 1 thing. Prison school is much more sexual and relies more on sexual jokes. Grand blue has sexual jokes as well but prison school is much more reliant on it. 

The humor is quite similar, and both are extremely funny. 

Grand Blue is extremely similar to Prison School in more than one ways. These both have the best hilarious moments that you won't stop laughing. The face expressions and the theme is very similar. Prison School is also a thriller anime with some unbelievable situations while Grand Blue focuses on the life experiences and there is a lot of drinking in it. Both are only 12 episodes long so you can binge-watch watch them in only a single day. You won't regret it.

If you are looking for something funny this is the anime you should watch 

They have a surprisingly similar brand of comedy and visual gags. Though they have wildly different narratives, both shows present a cast of characters designed to set up great comedic scenes, though they aren't necessarily unique or intricate on their own. If you liked the comedy of Prison School, you'll like Grand Blue, and vice versa. 

If you like Grand blue then you will definitely going to like Prison School and vice versa, both of them are really funny anime with Amazing characters. Although Prison School has more sexual Comedy, nonetheless they both are really good animes, and if you like one of them then you should give the other one a try. 

Both Grand Blue and Prison School share the same amount of funny stuff. You have a couple of boys and they are doing boys stuff like fighting, looking at girls and so on. The chemisty is also very similiar to Prison school

Both series are directed by Takamatsu Shinji, and their comedic styles are similar. Just like the high school boys in "Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou", the college boys in "Grand Blue" are also silly guys and often make troubles. They have a strong desire to date pretty girls, but in most cases the dates will be destoryed by their buddies. If you like one of the two series, the other will certainly make you laugh. 

Both are great comedy titles Both contain school life Both have amazing face designs (if you know what i mean) To me grand blue feels like a sequel to Danshi koukousei no nichijou because its like from daily lives of highschool boys grand blue becomes daily lives of collage boys 

If you loved Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou or even liked, I highly recommend you to watch Grand Blue. These animes have the same kind of humor and they will make WTF and unexpected moments like Gintama. Both mains characters of these animes will make silly faces along the episodes . Even if Grand Blue use multiples times the same kind of jokes (for example the naked guys at the "Grand Blue Diving Shop" or the main characters who drank an excessive amount of alcohol every time), it's always hilarious and I'm sure at like 99% that with Grand Blue (or Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou if you already watched Grand Blue lol) you will laugh out loud xD (And that's good for you because laughing is good for health xDDD) read more

Both anime are fairly realistic without too many regular comedy tropes, personally I prefer Grand Blue over Daily Lives Of Highschool Boys because its more realistic for both highschool and college life. Also both anime have some seriously funny repeating jokes wich I usually dislike but for some reason the more they repeat the funnier they are in these series. Both anime evoke quite strong feelings of nostalgia and happiness in me, as they remind me of messing around and just living life with my friends, and if you also miss being out with your homies then I strongly suggest these anime. 

Comedy in both the series is great. I had a blast watching both of them. While Grand Blue has a proper story, High School Boy's Daily Lives has mini stories with followups. You will laugh alot while watching. So, just watch em and decie for yourself. :D 

Similar theme, a bunch of students doing idiotic things after and during classes. Also, both are focused on friendship and just having fun in life. Even some jokes are almost the same 

Pretty much more younger/older version of each other (university vs high school male jokes) 

It's simple, EPIC COMEDY for both shows and it's really enjoyable to watch!

Both shows are just great comedies, all there is to it. If you enjoyed Grand Blue then I am almost certain you will enjoy Daily Lives of High School Boys. 

Both are about young boys and are comedy anime. The relationship they have with each other and their dynamic is just too good.  

Slice of life comedies with slapstick humour, the artstyle is pretty similar and is a huge part of both anime's style of humour.  

These shows are great comedies about groups of friends hanging out, and if you enjoyed one of them, I'm sure you'll have a great time with the other. While Daily Lives is set in highschool, Grand Blue is set in college (but it focuses a lot more in the diving club), and it honestly feels like the characters in Grand Blue could be a grown up version of characters from Daily Lives, they definitely have a similar feel to them.

Both these anime have peak comedy, you will absolutely love it. Grand Blue is more about the life of University/College Students and other one is about the High School boys life. You would really relate some moments if you are in High School Stage or College.  

Bouth of them are just nonsense comedy you ill literaly just laught untill your ass fell off, is the type of anime that you dont need to think, just absorb everyone should give a try

The funniest animes I have ever watched composed mostly of mindless and non-sensical fun. Definitely a good time.  

Both anime feature wild "What the fuck?" humour that doesn't make sense. Pretty much nonstop gags with "ugly" drawings periodically for effect. Asobi Asobase is more demure (they aren't in swim suits) but it's rougher more aggressive humour. 

Same style of comedy with a different setting: Grand Blue being centered around college boys vs. Asobi Asobase being centered around middle school girls.

If you laughed your ass off with Grand Blue's jokes (specially the dirty ones), then you might as well like Asobi Asobase, they might not be so similar by the looks, but the characters and situations are actually a lot alike (Ex: Olivia and Kohei as the character with good looks, but with a weird characteristic). Also, voice actors really did an awesome job in both shows, plus the "reaction faces" are funny af. 

Both: "trashy" jokes/funny situation, characters like to have fun (in their own ways, respectively)

They both have similar seinen-type comedy with some crazy facial expressions 

Both of them are probably one of the best comedy animes I’ve ever seen, if you liked Grand Blue you’ll love Asobi Asobase. Mainly because the comedy of the two animes are very similar, and they are not repetitive, unlike most comedy animes.  

It has the same energy. Both are hilarious as hell, the faces the characters make are absurd, and it's bound to get you to laugh hard. 

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Grand Blue and Hitoribocchi had a child? And also, what would happen if that child was a drug addicted? The answer is: Asobi Asobase. Ugly faces that are really funny and a idiot and nonsense humor makes this anime almost as good as Grand Blue.

To be fair, there is no Anime exactly like Grand Blue yet, but KonoSuba comes close just in different setting. Instead of adult/University/Slice of life/Comedy we get Fantasy/Medieval/Slice of life/Comedy. Both are quality shows and will give you plenty of laughs. 

This may come of as an unorthodox recommendation considering the fact that one is an Isekai show and the other is a college comedy show. However, If terrible people doing terrible things to each other fall under your alley of entertainment, you'll definitely find enjoyment in Grand Blue.  

Different context but overall really good comedy. If you want a quick laugh then this is pretty much the same shit. 

This anime is similar based on the comedy level. The laughter level is 10/10, if you wanna laugh watch grand blue and konosuba. konosuba is an isekai anime. 

They've got some of the best comedy I have ever seen in my life. They are also made for "men of culture", so they will cheer up your entire day with their character designs and guidance of the camera. 

Both are very good comedy anime and have simiral humor 

Both are stupidly funny, have a memorable character lineup. Most definitely very similar in their laid-back style, though Konosuba gets serious sometimes and Grand Blue is about more realistic things. 

Completely different genres but somehow the humour is similar and extremely hilarious.

If you enjoyed Konosuba, then you would definitely enjoy Grand Blue. They are both more about the comedy whilst still developing the plot. Grand Blue is a hilarious anime which makes you forget it's actually about diving.

The best comedy anime back to back 

Same sort of humor : *Characters are all as*holes with quite a few screws loose. *Masterful subversion of anime tropes *Energetic and excessive *Misunderstandings and overreactions These sorta things. If you are an anime afficionado and love absurd humor, then these 2 shows are for you. Might take some time getting into it though, but definitely worth it ! 

Cast of lovable idiots constantly gets into absurd situations that will make you laugh your ass off. 

Golden comedy. While Grand Blue is more vulgar and alcohol dependent, Gintama is more Shounen kind of comedy. Still, alongside GTO and Saiki, those are the best comedy anime I've ever seen 

Both shows consist of over the top comedy, filled with overly exaggerated scenarios and facial expressions.

If you want comedy, here you've got comedy. Maybe, they are one of the few one that can kill you with your own laugh. 

Similar to Gintama,Grand blue is an anime that is so funny that it makes your stomach hurt. Weird and funny.......

They have very similar type of humor, this is more important in comedy than any setting in term of similarity. 

Both are hilarious, they are well-crafted comedies with wacky characters and ever more improbable situations. Both are very quick and easy to watch, I highly recommend.  

Both anime have very similar sense of humour 

they both have a light storyline and unmatched funny comedy, so I hope they get it next season even if it's not possible 

While Grand Blue isn't really a romance show, it's VERY similar to Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou in many ways. The biggest similarity is probably their type of comedy, both are very well on the same footing, are insanely well thought & executed. Just straight up a tip; don't drink anything while watching either of these shows, we get jump-jokes in these that will make you laugh like some psycho...you will spill it all out. Another similarity is that the female leads are very similar, hair, personality, & more wise. 

MC live in a boarding house away from home with people of unknown backgrounds. Weird people living and interacting together. Funny In Grand Blue, Chisa is a Tsundere. In Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou, Ritsu is a kuudere. Both are good splice of life. 

They both are a good romcom anime how ever Grand Blue is more towards the comedy side while Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou is more romantic. They both also are very relatable letting u see the feelings inside each character to the point that u might even get abit annoyed when the relationships not going well (Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou) and normal not so normal college guy trying to live a normal life but had his dreams crushed (Grand Blue) p.s. These 2 animes are my top few favorite animes i highly recommend watching both ... they have good storylines :D

Both are extremely hilarious and filled with ecchi humour that doesn't seem super forced. They'll have you rolling on the floor laughing and both have really endearing main characters

They both have similar vibes, humor, aesthetic art style. Perfect for watching during summer season. 

Both shows feature a heavy dose of similar 'idiotic' humour, with Grand Blue featuring far more alcohol and Barakamon having more annoying children. Either way, both shows are great comedies which gave off a similar feeling when I was watching them. 

Do you like GAR and watching (near) naked muscled men? Check these anime. Do you like cute girls? You can also check these anime. Both are non-team sport anime (diving in Grand Blue, weight lifting in Dumbbell) in which both girls and guys participate. In both anime it's mostly the guys that get naked. Though you can enjoy cute girls in either sports wear or swimming wear. Expect to laugh a lot while watching these anime. 

Both shows have a lot of muscles. They capture everyday life of students, and do it very great. Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru? is about ordinary schoolgirls that want to improve themselves and date guys. Grand Blue is about ordinary university students who spend their youth by drinking and wanting to date girls. They seem completely opposite (promotion of healthy lifestyle vs drinking till death), but actually very similar. Different points of view, but same spirit. If you watch one after another (no matter of the order), you won't regret it. 

Both are infomercials in their own form, Grand Blue about the dangers of drinking, and Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru about health and fitness. Both have a lot of second base nudity of high school girls. 

The main characters are both first year college students, whisked away into a club experience they were pushed into on behalf of others. They are both relatively inexperienced in the field of the club they are joining, and will have to learn from the friends they make in the club. Golden Time focuses more on a romance aspect, while Grand Blue focuses more on Comedy/Slice of Life, however. 

if you're looking for some other anime taking place in college life, grand blue is just perfect. On top of that, It's one of the funniest animes ive ever seen.

Both share passion for the ocean, diving and fish. However, Grand Blue is a comedy before anything and Josee is a drama romance. Despite the difference in genre, I still think you should watch Grand Blue because of the similarity in atmosphere. 

Both are college students related. They both also have a MC who loves to scuba dive. Josee is a bit more romance related while Grand Blue is just college students goofing off haha 

both great comedies although Saiki>Grand Blue 

Both are comedy anime except Grand blue is a little more "edgy" and has more of a plot and character progression while Saiki K is more focused on comedy in shorter episodes. 

The similarities between the two when it comes to humour and artwork is uncanny. I'm surprised they're not made by the same artist. Both are hilarious and have many silly scenes, but the occasional heartfelt, feel-good moment. 

Both are funny as hell, loveable protagonist, Interesting Plot, Must watch if you need a good laugh. 

Both shows have similar over exaggerated comedy styles, which focus primarily on (exaggerated) facial expressions. Both shows also have a wide cast filled with weird personalities  

Both have similar comedy, craziness and are absolutely funny! Plus, they are both associated with water-based places and settings such as the beach. You should definitely try the other one if you like one of them. The characters are pure fun to watch and make the jokes. 

If you'd like some slice of life comedies about scuba diving, then here you are. Major difference is that while Amanchu is more relaxing and wholesome, Grand Blue is more, well, crazy. 

If you enjoy anime that show the beauty of the deep blue sea, then these two are definitely for you. They also have a lot of comedy used in different ways to show off how great the chemistry is between the characters.  

Both are sooooooooo funny ;) They are both about a sport which we do not see the MC practice a lot. Both have the same pace , you either you like it or not ^^

Watched the first episode of Temple and thought the comedy style was similar to Grand Blue. Only on MAL I discovered they're actually from the same author as well. 

They are both hilarious but mob psycho has some really good heartwarming moments.

The origin material is written by the same guy. I mean the jokes are literally made by the same person. How is it that no one is making the connection?
