both anime sort of venture in a dungeon-like world with a psychological setting. the visual style was not that similar, but sometimes it does (the hypnotizing background)

I find both shows similar in terms of exploring the wastelands, going upwards looking for clues as to what happened, as well as the encounters they made in every floor they visit.

Fate/Extra Last Encore has more in common with the Monogatari anime series than the other fate animes in the franchise - in terms of storytelling, art style, animation style, storytelling and dialogue. Watching Fate/Extra literally feels like watching the Monogatari series, with Shaft's trademark character shots, over-the-top long dialogue and simple yet detailed background.

Fate/Extra: Last Encore and Guilty Crown both take place in futuristic, kind of post apocalyptic, worlds where advanced technology is very commonplace. The two follow the story of a bland protagonist followed by some king of waifu-like character that are members of some sort of ''resistance''. The said MC needs to fight the evil government using powers coming from their hands. Also, the two shows have a splendid soundtrack.

Both the anime have similar concept as the main characters must go through each floors and fight the enemy characters from each floor until they reach the top.

Shows with extremely complex and confusing plots, carried mainly by their mystery and aesthetics. While actually comprehending what is going on in each episode is usually a complicated task, both are fun series to watch, with worlds than end up being incredibly entertaining. Their presentation also stands out, with "unique" character designs and really well-directed moments.

Shows with very unconventional storytelling, always showing and not telling, leaving a lot of points open to interpretation.

Similar dynamic of Master-Servant between main characters, Cosette looks like Red Saber too.

both stories revolve around the main protagonist supported by sub protagonist. they went from the real world to a fantasy world in order to reach a certain goal. on the way, they were forced to face either their problem or other's problem. both story also includes a twist with one of their most trustee nakama!
