Overpowered magic caster anti-hero protagonists. If you like the protagonist from Overlord, or the protagonist from Youjo Senki, you'll most likely enjoy the other as well. Action scenes from both are fun. Reactions from enemies and friendlies realizing how overpowered the protagonist is from both are fun.

Both of the main characters stuck in magical world. They got insane magical power. They got minions. They use strategies and plans to be safe etc. They are overpowered people who almost know stuff about their world and enemies. Both used to be normal worker. Both of the anime shows include. -Overpowered characters. -Overpowered songs. -Overpowered quality. BRUHH. A Lot of points but i used the most important, realized ones. However, if you like. -Magic. -Overpowered and strong characters. -Stuck in game style. -careful strategies in main character's treat and talk especially in their fights. They are both sent to another world, both have magic, and both deal with commanding others, though Youjo Senki's main theme is military. If you like op MCs who are a bit dark and isekai this is definitely the anime for you. 

I have recently started to get into anti-hero type characters and both Youjo Senk and Overlord are my favorite ones yet. While neither of the two has the mastermind type characters like Light or Lelouch, Tanya and Ainz Ool Gown bring anime apathy to an incredible extreme. Seeing the two characters treating human life like dirt and simply massacring without emotions makes my heart pump adrenaline all over my body. Tl;Dr Basicaly badass apathetic characters with tons of action

Both anime focus on anti-heroes in another world. The can easily take a life of a person that they consider their enemies. That's it. 

Both feature something very similar - an overpowered main character that is fighting the whole world and God. The story line involves an alternative historical sci fi version of earth, where is armed conflict going on aka world wars. Their iconic characters are pretty much alike both in mentality and in their actions and decisions. Both are overpowered and defeating their enemies very easy. Youjo Senki being an isekai won't matter as the isekai setting is just a plot device used in the introduction of the character somehow, but I find it that it does not impact the story too much in order to be thought as an isekai. read more

Both the protagonists have a Realist perspective on war and human nature, both are extremely intelligent and rational. Both anime's haven given me both philosophical and retrospective views on humanity. Both freaking amazing!!!! 

-Both feature semi-simmilar lowkey crazy intelligent antigonist -Both include superpowers. -In both worlds there is war going on It has /some/ of Code Geass atmosphere to it. I'll update once the story progresses but so far I'd recommend you go watch CG if you haven't already.  

- a protaganist bent on revenge by all means, whatever the consequences. - potentially super-OP powers that require intellect and planning to use properly - early battles almost fun as so OP, but they did work to get that OP, and odds slowly stack up to even more spectacular contents of skill and intellect - just a great blend of fun, OP, growing scope leading to epic scale odds for every conflict (think R1 vs R2, Youjo Senki season 1 showing same signs) 

Evil MC who is tactical and strategist. Using mecha gadgets. Fighting other nations to achieve peace in their own point of view. 

The Art of War. Code Geass and Saga of Tanya the Evil both follow smart individuals participating in war for something beneficial to them. Though Code Geass has Lelouch trying to take down Britannia due to global domination. Tanya the Evil has a more selfish theme in Tanya fight against Being X's actions put upon her, in the name of defying him. Both are great action-military anime showing the realities of war and how people can change throughout that period. 

Both Anime have a really similar traits. Op MC, Cold and Merciless MC, Set in a world war 

Based on war between 2 nations MC will do whatever it takes to win 

Both are based on WWII and paint the axis as a good guy 

Both anime features a main character who wanted peace but later understood the only way to achieve peace is to fight, reckless in their behavior. The plot is also about the war against all other nation, being the bad guy themselves. 

When all morale is lost to the point where right or wrong are no longer questions that are black and white. When characters are so full of themselves, they are the only ones in question, caring about literally none other than their main goal at hand. A goal so questionable, you would have thought the two were devils in human bodies. Both Saga of Tanya and AOT FS are heavily based on military, and the short and long-term effects they give off. Some effects of which are not to be underestimated. Side note, Saga of Tanya Movie relates all the more. I would recommend you go through both series as it was intended to do so, from start to end. read more 

A war between the two or more nations! Youjo Senki broke out a war throughout the whole world. To build a stronger and wider Nation. Attack On Titan S4 war between Humans and Titans! Everyone will do anything just to stop the trembles of war!

War, protagonist in a situation where whole world paints them evil or as the source of all evil and the only way to peace is to eradicate the evil. 

Fairly detailed, enjoy :) The worlds are somewhat similar, in short: Alderamin is a fictional 19th century beginnings of rifled guns world, Youjo Senki is WW1 europe with a twist. Both magic included. -Main character is a talented officer (more so in Alderamin) -in Alderamin Ikta is above all a gifted young strategist and somewhat clever/cunning like JoJo's Joseph, -Tanya was a ruthless salaryman and now is a sociopathic, mad, ruthless yet sometimes cute gifted fighter/air commander, has historical hindsight from her original future and is able to guess national objectives in advance -Both are lazy! -Ikta takes the shortest and easiest way possible to victory, works hard to end duties as quickly as possible and have a nap. He likes his job. -Tanya loves order and rules, wants a peaceful existence in the capital but is "too good to let be" and gets thrown into the frontmost fights. She hates having to do that, even though she's excellent. -Both are also fighters (more so in Youjo Senki) -Ikta uses a magic powered bolt action rifle to great effect -Tanya uses a magic powered computer/jewel and is basically a commander of self-flying mages (think Strike Witches) -Both shows showcase military badassery -Alderamin concentrates on tactics with great, easy to follow explanations; every problem has to be countered with a creative solution and it's really fun to watch all plans and numbers unfold on the screen -Youjo Senki bets on the badass fun of a vanguard strike force, quality combat scenes, satisfying strategy debates with generals using Tanya's knowledge of 20th century history and doctrine and also Tanya's unique character -Cast -Alderamin has 2 main characters: Ikta and Yatori -Youjo Senki has only Tanya -Characters (they usually don't change much) -Alderamin touches on more characters, often uses main cast's past as interludes and tries to brief us on why they became who they are -Youjo Senki develops only Tanya and only in the present, we get attached to other characters and see their different emotions but a military strictness is placed on their behavior, aside from a few they don't change all that much, half the cast is already mature and developed. read more

Fantasy settings with the main focus on war. In both shows, the central focus is more on tactics and politics of warfare, rather than the combat aspect. Both also follow the journey of a group/squadron, albeit told mostly from the perspective of the MC

If you like war dramas but are tired of giant mechs or high fantasy elements, then these are the shows for you. The characters in Alderamin and Tanya are front line junior officers in their respective wars fighting just to survive. While they both have subtle magic elements, Tanya is darker with a more prominent MC while Alderamin has more humor and a bigger ensemble cast.  

Both animes are set in a world war era with witches/mages fighting. Both animes contain a female protagonists who are fighting on the frontlines for their countries.  

Both of these shows are one of the World Wars mixed with Mahou Shoujo's; while Shuumatsu no Izetta is about the 2nd WW, Youjo Senki is set in the first WW (which apparently started in 1924 now...) 

The same setting where it involves, world war, young shoujos, magic and the the kind of arimes that were fighting, were a Germanic army is involve, how the time settings were different and the kind of mages where also different. In Shuumatsu No Izetta, it was a classical good vs evil, while in Youjo Senki, it was more of a rise of an anti heroine being badder by the minute. 

The biggest difference between Youjo Senki and Shuumatsu no Izetta is the motive and allegiance of the main character. Izetta is driven by loyalty to her Princess and fights for the underdog Kingdom of Elystadt. Major Degurechaff on the other hand fights for the domineering Empire and does so for selfish motives only. For this reason I feel that Youjo Senki is the superior series. The major is psychopathic and brilliant in combat while Izetta rather detests needing to fight but does so for a greater cause. This makes being in the mind of the major far more interesting and less common for a main character. However that aside they are extremely similar, taking place in similar time settings in a European setting. Magic exists in both worlds although in Shuumatsu no Izetta it is only used by witches which are nigh extinct while in Youjo Senki magic affinity is common although the degree of talent can vary widely. Both main characters are virtual 1-woman armies unto themselves, their combat standing in their respective series is almost that high. Anyway, my intent is not to bore or spoil you. The point is that they bear a great many similarities with each other. read more

Both are anime set in a unique world, with a military style to them, as we follow young people in the midst of a war of sorts. Tanya the evil is set in an alternate world, on the verge of starting world war one, similar to our own, but magic technology, and mages exist in this world, fighting in the war. We followa very young girl, who is one of the strongest forces fighting in the war. Attack on titan follows people who are fighting back against giant humanoid man-eating creatures 

Both Animes: - Have a Main Character with an overwhelming desire for Revenge - Have great Action Scenes - Include a form of Military 

The aspects of war and politics 

Both have advanced military weapons that aid them in war Both focus the tragic cruelty of war and politics Both have the same dark and violent setting   

-Both are about fighting in the military -The girl mcs are half japanese and half german -Both are quite violent but Aot is much more gory and bloody than Youjo Senki. -Both have an overall dark theme but aot is more dramatic and depressing -The characters can move around with special equipment that are similar in some ways  

Both protagonist died in an accident as an adult and had been reborn to another world into a different body (as a cute child). They both remember their past lives and excel in this new world where they can use magic and weaponry simultaneously. 

Both MCS are reborn into a world different from the ones they have known. Both MCS overpowered at a young age/kid genius Both MCS have attractive appearances Both animes have magic involved (and machinery) Both animes are captivating of the audience Both have tremendous potential and are stronger than most of the adults If you enjoyed Youjo Senki, I highly recommend this anime. Although the protagonist's attitudes from both these animes differ, they are both insanely similar in the aspect of being reborn and being a genius at a young age.  

The same main characters who died as adults in their world , suddenly found themselves reincarnated into another world, where they become this great child prodigy who can kick an grown up's ass. 

Reincarnated MC Holding vast knowledge and intellect from their previous life. Becoming powerful and key characters in this new world.  

The MC is reincarnated to another world. The MC is smart and strategist. The story is kinda similar. The battles are amazing. 

I am honestly not sure why this isn't highly recommended. What is ridiculously similar between these two titles is the war aspect. There is no fun and games here. Welcome to serious business. I suppose, the accuracy of 86 and Saga of Tanya aren't the most credible, however, it is undeniable that the two are accurate in some presentation of warfare and the damages it can bring. Segregation, cataclysm, torment, dehumanisation, all the rest of it. It is a true hell at times, and the two know all about it. Another good thing about the two is how whilst hell is a constant, the playing field is somewhat realistic in that it isn't always as bad as it seems. Talking things out and coming up with new ideas are common around here. It is just the quiet side of warfare being exposed. All in all, two good military anime I'd recommend for fans of that genre. As well as good audiovisual accompanying said anime. read more 

They are both animes that have alot of resemblance to germany during ww2.  

Both are kind of similar, despite "86" lacking the "isekai" aspect. Following a trend of an alternate history where there is a powerful futuristic technology, using it to go to war with one another just for well... reasons. For reasons, I mean fictional nations being oppressed and desiring power that's why they go to war. Well, in this case, the two are essentially the two sides in one coin: "86" is about an oppressed nation while "Youjo Senki" revolves around a nation that desires power. With that said, I am positive that someone would find the one as equally enjoyable as the other, for the two essentially follow the same idea. Feel free to check it if you're interested. read more 

These two anime share a similar war-oriented plot with a focus on the commanding power behind them. Youjo Senki primarily focuses on the desire for individual power and the driving force with a reason behind it, while 86 focuses on the relationships built through power held by a small group of people. While this won't summarise both Anime thoroughly, even though they do not share the same core ideas and have very different plots laid out for them, both Anime share similarities that can make you grow to like both series and leave you hanging, yet satisfied waiting for the next release. 

military genre anime that is fun to watch 

Another historical warfare-themed show, great for any history nerds. Similarities: History-based(ish) Explosions & Weaponry Differences: Isekai Magic More complex plot Less tanks :( 

Inconspicuous. Saga of Tanya the Evil and Fire Force both have a similar theme of a supreme being going behind and tampering with the MCs life in the shadows. Saga of Tanya does this with Being X doing everything in their power to rid Tanya of her achievements, Fire Force does this with the White-Clad and their following with the Evangelist. Both are good action anime with Saga of Tanya being about war and military, Fire Force being a good battle-shounen with some fanservice.  

They both have this eerie feel to it. Not as a main factor but like a side one that slowly becomes more present in later episodes. In fire force this is represented in a sort of secret organisation that tampers with the companies, religion and innate problem which are Infernals. Somehow it seems like everything is being manipulated and all are connected for a purpose. Same goes with Tanya but this time portrayed as a conspiracy of ridding the mc of her achievements. This slowly builds up to a strong story that watchers may or may not like, in my personal opinion Tanya is better at its overall tone and compelling plot while fire force has a unique narrative backed up with an engaging mystery. However they also have clear struggles, as there is much uneeded comedy and fanservice in fire force and a vague direction in tanya read more 

Although the plot is different but both mcs are ruthless and doesn't hesitate to kill enemies in front of them and action Scenes dominates in both series.

Similarities: Main character dies, gets reincarnated as a child while keeping his/her memories and is overpowered. Also both anime have magic and the main character meets "God". Differences: Youjo Senki plays in a war and there is no focus on the main character's lust while Mushoku Tensei plays in some kind of "peaceful", medieval World. 

Similarities- 1. Both MCs have the wisdom of an adult although their current body is still a kid. And people think of them as kids. 2. Both are very strong in magical powers. 3. Both know about the god who reincarnated them into the magical world. The major point of both anime is to watch how normal people respond to a kid who has an adults' wisdom and have extraordinary smartness and magical capabilities. Difference- Youjo senki' main character (Tanya) was a successful yet cold hearted guy in his real world and that's why he hates the god too who bought him to the new world after he was killed. And reincarnated as a GIRL. Jobless reincarnation's main character(Rudeus) was a bullied otaku before death and never yet he was a good guy. Tanya is called as a devil in form of a kid due to her mercilessness. And Rudeus is merciful but pervert. The time settings of the both worlds are totally different. One is in a war zone age with guns and train, and other is in a time of middle ages with no technology. Both Anime's Season 1 are just like character introduction. And both have just started up their main story. Which may appear in upcoming seasons. read more

If you like a violent anime with a lot of people dying this is the show for you. it shows the time of the Viking era. It is very similar to Youjo Senki both characters a ruthless and and ready to kill. Vinland saga also has some great animation. 

both anime using military as a genre and using isekai world as a background. the difference is Gate literally using gate to go to other world while Youjo Senki got reincarnated as a kid. 

Both are military isekai anime. -True, Gate focuses more on the harem than actual combat, but It's still worth watching, especially if you loved the military aspect of Youjo Senki! 

The strategies of the protagonists of the two anime's are well elaborated. 

The essence of an anti-hero. Rather than a similar plot, both Light and Tanya are both cunning and clever individuals who will do anything to get the job at hand done. Even if it means breaking morals. Although in DN, Light is a serial killer killing off the criminals of the world. Whereas Tanya was once a salaryman who became a weak child only to grow to try to defy Being X. Both are interesting anime with the lead character devilishly plotting every action in order to complete annihilate the enemy. 

Both characters were living somewhat perfect lives, until they were just dealt a bad hand, albeit one could say a well deserved hand, and now they have to adapt to what they were given in order to survive daily. - Ajin involves a methodically thinking student who is thrown into a world of "terrorism and misunderstandings." - Youjo Senki involves a methodically thinking office-worker who is thrown into a "magical WW1-esque era." 

Both series have unique protagonists that work in combination with a unique "alternate-universe" setting where the world is pretty damn similar to ours (at some period in time) but thrown in with a supernatural twist. If you're like me, you probably liked either Ajin or Youjo Senki because of the unconventially assholey protagonist. While the protagonist of Ajin is similarly selfish and tends to prioritize themselves/their safety over others like the protagonist of Youjo Senki, the most notable difference between the two is that Senki's MC is rather cruel, mentally twisted, and motivated, while Ajin's protagonist is far more apathetic/socially challenged and really undertakes far more character development than the former. Also, Ajin takes place in a world that mirrors our modern era and Youjo Senki is heavily inspired by WWI. It is worth mentioning that if you DON'T like military anime or don't enjoy the learning curve when trying to learn the international format of an alternate universe then Youjo Senki might not be for you. read more 

Military anime involving characters that can use magic combined with technology to fly and project shields, used to fight in wars. In Youjo Senki, the war is against other humans and magic users. In Strike Witches, the war is against robotic aliens. 

Witch Girls combat aviation, a similar concept and setting 

Like spicy food? Because the main dish is the military... and today, we're spicing it up! For spicy military combat, Youjo Senki is your dish. Special sauce: how about a sadistic protagonist called Tanya with a strong personality and a pinch of magic in the conflicts? For spicy life experiences in the military, Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu is your dish. Special sauce: how about training someone to go to space for a change... with the added pressure and risks of this person being a disposable test subject in a space race? All in all, if you want to follow someone in the military, but don't feel like putting just salt on your food... try spicing it up for a change. read more 

Both series follow a young blond(e) character that is a villain, and the series follows their life as they seek out to achieve their ambitions. 

Both series feature child soldiers engaging in warfare to survive and thrive in a war plagued time. 

If you enjoyed the military aspect of Youjo Senki, then you may also enjoy FMA:B. One of the greatest anime of all time, this show is also set in a WWII, Germany-like nation at war. While FMA:B has a lot more depth to it than purely military, I think it's safe to say that you won't be disappointed by what you get. 

'Jormungand' is about a boy who hates weapons and anyone who sells them, but he still works for a young female arms dealer. 'Youjo Senki' is about a young female child soldier in a war-torn country. How in the world could these series be similar? First off, they both deal with war and killing, with dynamic action scenes. Both include child soldiers, as well as, manipulation. The female lead of 'Youjo Senki' shares similarities with both the female and male lead of 'Jormungand,' as she is a child soldier, but is also a crazy, manipulative badass. The artwork on both series is exceptional. On the other hand, 'Youjo Senki' is set in an alternate universe that uses magic, with an extreme focus on the war aspect of the plot, as well as, the main character's actions and feelings. While 'Jormungad' is set in more modern times with more of a focus on the characters actions and the violence that comes with the arms trade. read more 

Similar: Fantasy warfare that renacts world war era europe tropes and conflicts, both have characters that are completely debased and crave violence, mass murder, horrifying nationalit fascist villains, the best part of it is the action and insane overpowered MC. Different: Hellsing has vampires and zombies. But don't be put off, this isn't the vanitas type, think more castelvania-- If the castlevania characters had full auto weapons and led world war fleets into battle. Also, Hellsing isn't an isekai, but come on, you have to be a little isekai'd out by now.  

-It follows our main character transporting into another world. Trying what they can to survive but with overpowered power and opposite personalities.

Both series revolve around a female protagonist who is psychotic in nature. They also make magnificent decisions and are also well skilled in fighting. Both of the anime are pretty dark in nature and while Mirai Nikki revolves around a survivor game, Youjo Senki revolves around a war. But every war is a survivor game right? If you are a fan of mind bending genre of anime like I am, where you like heroes choosing life changing decisions, then Mirai Nikki is the one for you. 

Fight against god. The Saga of Tanya the Evil and Angel Beats both follow MCs who had all an unpleasant death which has led them to take revenge against god. In Saga of Tanya the Evil, Tanya, who used to be a salaryman, had died which had caused being X (god) to place Tanya as a weak child in wartime. Despite this, Tanya finds ways to defy being X and tries to take her revenge. AB works in the same way with the SSS fighting against god via fighting Angel, for their unsatisfactory lives. Saga of Tanya the Evil is much hard-hearted action-military anime, with AB being for those who would enjoy a comedy-drama set in a school. read more 

The MC of both shows are put in an apparently difficult situation, but they handle it easily because they are FUCKING OVERPOWER. 

In both, characters are thrown into a war in different world by god like figure. They dominate the battlefield with knowledge and abilities they brought over with brutal efficiency. MCs are kinda insane and in case of Oda and Tanya you could see then as bad guys. 

These Anime are both about young girls that fight in the first world war (with differences here and there) that grow through-out the long war, with interesting fighting styles they surprise older Soldiers and rule the out-come of their respected battle changing the cores of History.

Now many of many of you reading this would think *How on earth are Youjo senki and Kakegurui similar?!* Well let me tell you one thing. Youjo senki is an anime about middle aged man reincarnated as a loli and war. While Kakegurui is about a girl who likes to gamble in school pretty much. Now how are those two totally different shows similar? Main character are both just crazy! the psychological element in both is pretty good and trust me. Many people who liked kakegurui also liked youjo senki and vice versa. give it a try and see how it goes 

Both animes contain main characters that are overpowered, but due to different reasons. In Youjo Senki, the protagonist is a girl who looks like a young boy and is extremely intelligent with great fighting abilities. On the other hand, in KonoSuba, the male lead gets transported into another world and has cheats or skills that make him OP. The rest of his party also consists of girls who look up to him.
