Prison School

Similar art style, practicly identical style of humour. There are connections to school life (one high school and other university). And of course there is very prominent adult humour (although in Prison School it is much more - hardcore would be best way to describe it). 

EXACT same type of comedy, if you're a fan of Grand Blue, you'll surely enjoy Prison School as well. 

Both have the similar style of slap-stick comedy. The comedy where they get extreme reactions to trivial things. They both contain a flavor of romance although the setting is not different. Both have a big cast of characters with each one of them given good character development. Voice acting is also superb in both. 

Both shows are filled with characters that tend to get themselves into silly situations and rely heavily on over exaggeration/faces for comedic purposes 

The animation of the character's expressions are very exaggerated for comedy purpose and both have similar humor 

They're equally funny, so if you liked Prison School you'll also like Grand Blue. OBS: The stories are very different, the only common fact is the comedy 

Both have a similar comedic style, a lot of slapstick and ecchi comedy and teanage-young adult characters which bizzare behavior patterns. 

IF you enjoyed grand blue you will 100% be interested and have an amazing time watching prison school , the humor could literally make you piss yourself , its basically just an anime you could watch if you want to smile and laugh through the entire show . 10/10  

Since these two are among the best comedies I've seen, I couldn't help but list them in recommendations. - Both works share the same kind of cartoonish but more adult humor, offering you exotic and fun facial expressions, sexual and dirty jokes, characters whose "rotten" characteristics are very evident, among other elements in common. - Both Grand Blue and Prison School involve male protagonists and represent in several scenes their perverted and avid point of view of attraction for women, typical of that age. Grand Blue, however, takes place at the college entrance stage, while Prison School takes place in a completely bizarre high school prison universe. - In addition to the perverted humor, both present several jokes involving nudity. Prison School, however, is an Ecchi, presenting a huge content of explicit scenes involving female characters. In contrast, Grand Blue contains more jokes involving drunk and naked men, although it features both. - In both, the characters that surround the protagonist are treated as "strangers" and have bizarre characteristics that connect them to the humor of the work. In Prison School, we have the Nerd Otaku, the Masochist and the Introvert fascinated by ants. They have very similar types of humour so if you liked Grand Blue, theres a very high chance that you will enjoy this anime just as much.

They are both an absolutely comedy climax for everyone who see them. We can also highlight that they have a good plot and a great "plot". 

I originally watched Grand Blue and was looking for something with the similar raunchy comedy. Not a lot of shows really felt the same to it. But then I found Prison School. They both are absolutely absurd and have plenty of moments where I was to the brink of tears from laughing so hard. I highly recommend both if you are looking for a show that holds nothing back, and has extremely crude humor.  

Similar type of humor Both lighthearted  

Grand Blue and Prison are very similar in their humor and artstyle. Very good and refreshing comedy that's not that influenced by Japanese culture. Incredibly over-the-top, both can make you laugh with the ridiculousness of its chapters 

Strongly recommend you go and watch Prison School if you liked Grand Blue (and vice versa)! I enjoyed both, tremendously. If you're the crazy type that's okay with homoerotic humor, male nudity and bizarre situations - do yourself a favor and watch it too. You won't regret! 

Both have similar Art and Animation Style. Both Anime will make you laugh on Absurdity. Also The Male Lead is surrounded by Weirdos in both Anime.  

Both use very similar comedy with facial expressions, and Visual comedy. Very different plots, but if you laughed at one of them, you will laugh at the other. 

Both series follow the stories of a bunch of boys always getting themselves dragged up in some of the most unimaginable circumstances. Over exaggerated humor, reactions and even fanservice lays the foundation of that goldmine of a comedy these two series have. Also bear in mind that over-exaggeration is a compliment here. If you've liked one, most probably you'd love the other one too.

These anime will make you laugh so hard, they had a pretty a good storyline they make a serious face when things are about to be funny, although you might experience some ecchi, well if your use to ecchi then I recommend these. 

Both of these hilarious seinen anime have a shit ton of visual and dialogue-heavy comedy 

Both got the same taste of comedy, really over-the-top funny (I find Grand Blue funnier), MC kinda looks the same, got a plot going on, school is in the background of the plots, a club/committee is there, and finally got some funniest characters you'll ever see.  

Both anime have very similar art styles and overall comedy styles to each other. Of course one takes place in School and the other in University but it is easy to notice how similar they are to each other.  

Both these shows rely on similar types of humor, the main being: misunderstandings, and reaction humor. I'd say that both are equally good and if you like one it's a guarantee you'll like the other. The only difference is 1 thing. Prison school is much more sexual and relies more on sexual jokes. Grand blue has sexual jokes as well but prison school is much more reliant on it. 

The humor is quite similar, and both are extremely funny. 

Grand Blue is extremely similar to Prison School in more than one ways. These both have the best hilarious moments that you won't stop laughing. The face expressions and the theme is very similar. Prison School is also a thriller anime with some unbelievable situations while Grand Blue focuses on the life experiences and there is a lot of drinking in it. Both are only 12 episodes long so you can binge-watch watch them in only a single day. You won't regret it.

If you are looking for something funny this is the anime you should watch 

They have a surprisingly similar brand of comedy and visual gags. Though they have wildly different narratives, both shows present a cast of characters designed to set up great comedic scenes, though they aren't necessarily unique or intricate on their own. If you liked the comedy of Prison School, you'll like Grand Blue, and vice versa. 

If you like Grand blue then you will definitely going to like Prison School and vice versa, both of them are really funny anime with Amazing characters. Although Prison School has more sexual Comedy, nonetheless they both are really good animes, and if you like one of them then you should give the other one a try. 

Both Grand Blue and Prison School share the same amount of funny stuff. You have a couple of boys and they are doing boys stuff like fighting, looking at girls and so on. The chemisty is also very similiar to Prison school

Sex and survival are the main basis for both of these shows. Both have plenty of funny moments, and fan-service if that's what you're into.  

They're both not necessarily a harem but is more towards the seinen audience. Both series takes place in a school with teenagers. The fanservice is greatly incorporated and is core in both series with nice art and animation.

super ecchi, with an interesting plot! for people who wanna be horny as well as wanna experience a tremendous storyline where you badly wanna know what happens in the next episode. 

The ecchi moments in it are very good XD Not like other typical ecchi anime bcoz there's no harem and the plot is great!!! 

People usually watch these shows for the fanservice. So yeah big titties and lots of fanservice. Both of them have a school setting too with little bit of gory scenes. 

Both shows have extremely intense drama and adult themes (jail for Prison School and gambling for Kakegurui) in a high school setting. Character all have a hidden nasty streak inside to make for quite an intimidating setting at school. 

Kakegurui has the same art style and the same ecchi outlook as Prison School. When you lose a game in Kakegurui, you become a housepet and are treated very similarily if you were stuck inside the Prison School. The sado-masochism part of Kakegurui is too much alike Prison School. Very good anime, so if you liked Prison School, give Kakegurui a shot. 

The art, pace of the show and fan service level is very similar. Kakegurui is not so explicit, but it is visually otherwise very like Prison School. Scenery and storytelling have something in common, as well. 

Both anime feels like it was made to fulfill author's fetishes, however someone made a mistake and put on TV instead of private collection that no one should look at. 

'Prison School' is similar to 'Kakegurui' when it comes to the story setting, which is a high school ground filled with elites. Both anime enlighten that the students there are more concerned about gambling, manipulate, peeping girls on compromising situations, badly injuring others, treating others like slaves, do ecchi etc., rather than living a rather peaceful school year. Both contain character's with sadomasochism and masochistic tendencies. 

Both have similar style of animation and are both set in a high school with very strict set of rules

Same art style, cinematography and both have that "Master & Slaves" thing. Although Prison School is ecchi and comedy while Kakegurui is psychological and mystery. 

School settings with the lives of students at stake, where the issues of reputation in ‘Prison School’ and debt in ‘Kakegurui' create drama through prestige hierarchies and enigmatic, background plotting. Ecchi humour/perversion is established to showcase humour and character desire. ‘Prison School’ is far more explicit whereas ‘Kakegurui’ is most explicit with this when detailing psychotic or near-orgasmic pleasure/thrill. Overt or covert references to dominatrix and femdom are portrayed with the Student Councils, where there are more powerful and authoritative female characters than male characters (who tend to be more submissive out of fear or pleasure). The more realistically-designed animation styles make the moments of exaggerated facial expressions stand out for intended comedic or dramatic purposes. read more

I view Shimoneta as a gateway anime into more mature comedies. And you don't get much more nuanced and layered as Prison School. If you want an ecchi that could actually exist and be just as good without the ecchi, Prison School is your series. It doesn't have a meta story like Shimoneta, but it excels far harder in its characters and more specifically its drama. JC Staff has two top level adaptations here, and these are hardly their only two. 

There are similarities among the characters of the two shows, they're both full of ridiculous dirty jokes, taking place in highschools, in general they give you the same vibe. 

Both have a pretty similar sense of humor, but are completely different in terms of story line and animation style. 

Both animes are hilarious and willing to put in explicit jokes, if you enjoyed one of them, just jump on the other one

These anime anime are completely different when reading they're synopsis, but when you watch them they are almost one and the same. They are both absurd, and have over the top reactions. If you like weird, ''WTF'' comedy, you'll have a blast watching these! 

Dumb toilet humor? check. A bunch of horny guys forced into an unnatural and uncomfortable situation? check. Villainous perverted mustache man? check. These two shows have an unique appeal, and a very peculiar sense of humor. If you liked the over-the-top inappropriate gags of prison school, you'll enjoy BSG's just as much.

Let's start st the end. They leave off with the girls wanting the guys. Very sexual-based comedies, little cringy at times from the over-perviness. Not bad, but in a gross way. Not for straight-edges.

These are amusing ecchi anime that are frequently considered a ‘must-see’ even for those that are not a fan of ecchi or fanservice. These anime base their sexual jokes on the clueless and perverted nature of the young male characters, who are then frequently called out or punished for their inappropriate actions by the memorable female characters. That said, Kintaro and the male protagonists of ‘Prison School’ have moments that showcase their morality, such as looking out for or protecting innocent people from a threat. What is nice about both of these series is that, amongst the ecchi content, are genuine plots that the fanservice elements do not detract from. ‘Golden Boy’ has the backdrop of educational lessons whereas ‘Prison School’ has a suspenseful prison plot with dramatic tension and blackmail.  read more 

Both feature a crude, often sexual style of humor while also developing meaningful relationships between the characters. In this, they each create a sympathetic cast of characters despite their over-the-top nature. 

It has the same premise of comedy and ecchi. But Golden Boy has a life lessons compare to Prison School. 

In a wasteland of obnoxious, unfunny, cringe inducing, brain rotting ecchi anime, two behemoths rise from the toxic sludge to introduce a gold standard and set an example, in the stead of all other poorly written shows of the genre. Prison School and Golden Boy are two anime, among another select few, of the 1% that execute ecchi tropes correctly. If you want do do ecchi, do it like these two shows or don't do it at all. P.S., you can mishmash the titles into "Prison Boy" and "Golden School", and somehow these new combinations still make perfect sense within the context of the shows. 

Similarities: + Main characters are a bunch of students who committed crimes. + Main characters are trying to escape the prison. + Both stories are set mostly inside of a prison. + Both have extremely abusive prison officers, physically and sexually. + Both are very manly and are Seinen (aimed at adults). + Both get kind of romantic towards the end. Dissimilarities: - Rainbow is very dramatic and tragic, but Prison School is an Ecchi comedy. - Rainbow's prison is a reformatory, but Prison School's is... A school prison. (DUH) - The main characters' crimes in Rainbow were made to protect someone else, but the main characters' crime in Prison School was... not. (They sneaked into the girls' bathroom lol) read more

Both have the theme of friendship and prisons, Rainbow in a mature way and Prison School in a ecchi-comedian way. 

Both have the same Shawshank Redemption-esque theme (young men in prison), but genre-wise they are complete opposites in that Prison School is more of a laidback comedy/ecchi anime while Rainbow is a serious/dark historical drama that talks about the life of delinquents in the aftermath of WW2. Funny enough, both deal with the theme of brotherhood and friendship in their own unique way (Prison school more humorously, Rainbow more seriously) and I enjoyed them despite the fact the mood was completely different in both. Both also feature an endearing cast of main characters who strive to prove their innocence and get out of prison. 

for those who like the prison theme, both have it, but Rainbow has a more serious footprint while prison school is funny and have ecchi, and in addition there are similarities in some little things as characters and part of the plot pra quem gosta de tema de prisão, ambos possuem esse tema, porém Rainbow tem uma pegada mais séria, já prison school mais voltada pra comédia e ecchi, e além disso possuem semelhanças em algumas coisinhas como personagens e uma parte da trama

Gintama is not ecchi, but the kind of humor you see in Gintoki's adventures is a very peculiar (and, some people would say, refined) one - Prison School does the same, but it includes breasts and butts. If you look for a non-conventional comedy series, these two are a sure shot. 

Sex jokes. Bathroom Humor. S&M. This about sums up the comedic styles of both Prison School and Gintama. The shows have excellent comedic timing, lowbrow humor, and lots of S&M fanservice. Unlike Prison School, Gintama mixes in a lot of parody humor, as well as action, feels, and serious arcs. Both shows are amazingly executed. 

They have the same type of humour at times. Gintama is full of various types of comedy but a large premise also includes sexual comedy which is the basis of Prison school. In essence Gintama is like prison school but it has more to offer. 

Both animes have a main character who got a girl in the pilot and will develop their relationship throughout the development of the anime, both have male perverted friends that lack relationship experience, except for one who has theorical experience and shares it with the main character, the humor on both are centered in sexual jokes/events, they share some aspects of both director on some scenes, and made me laugh equally. 

Both anime have a group of desperate guys - Nerd with glasses, the main character, a guy who has nothing special and then a fatso with the worst possible fetish. Hajimete no Gal does only have 4 guys though. Even the personality and voice actors of the main character are very similar. And then there are busty females who mess with them.  

Prison School + Keikenzumi na Kimi to, Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi = Hajimete no Gal Shut your brain and enjoy 

Similar 4 main male characters (maybe some small discrepancies here and there but overall vibe is the same), at a different starting point, but with the same tendencies. Overall HnG feels like a toned down version of PS. 

If you liked one series, I can bet you will love another one. Both are just amazing in comedy genre. 

These shows have a good mix of a dark nature with good comedy. They're fighting there respective system, with a huge wall in the way. Light shows that dont wiegh you down. 

Both… …are fast-paced action comedies. …have protagonists that often get caught in ridiculous and awkward situations. …have highly inappropriate humor (Prison School is 110% lewd, DMC is 110% vulgar). …create some very intense and exciting scenarios, with TONS of hype! …also explore themes of friendship and romance. I personally enjoyed Prison School more, as I felt that DMC recycled some jokes a bit too often. That said, both are pretty short, especially DMC, so checking them both out and seeing for yourself is highly recommended! Make sure that your parents don’t walk in on you while watching these two.

The base plot of both is extremely similar, if not the same. The only major difference I've seen until now is the targeted audience, busou shoujo machiavellianism is like a "kid-version" of prison school. 

Co-ed between both opposite genders are off-limited... Supposedly every girls in their school are very secure... The Act of some Laws in an Elite Prestigious Academy.. are way strict... Both are indeed.. enjoyable yet having a wrong routine.. from their youth 

Both have a very similar sense of humor and delivery, from the viewpoint of stupid silly high school boys behaving the exact way high school boys do. The jokes are very similar in style, but extremely unique and hilarious in their own ways. Highly recommend one if you liked the other. 

the comedy was hilarious 

The setting is kind of similar in my opinion, with schoolkids getting separated from other students and kept as prisoners. 

These both occur in a prison, the premise for Evil or Live is in a rehabilitation center for gaming addicted youth. In both series we see the powerful prey on the weak, and toward the end the weak begin to fight back. Quite similar characters but Evil or Live focuses more on violent quick action scenes than fan service ecchi...  

Both series follow an analogous group of boys trying to overcome the teachers and girls at their school. Both shows have a very similar sense of humor based on sex and gross factor oriented jokes. 

- Both have lots of similar perverted humor. - Both have tons of nudity, more so with Ike!. - Both are about a bunch of boys but in Ike! only 3 are 'real pervert' whereas prison school all of them are. - Both have two guys that have more screen time. - Both have a school setting. - Both have hilarious dub if you prefer that. - Both are a must watch if you like adult comedy. 

Same jokes and similar art style and both have similar styles of violence  

Same types of jokes are made in both GTO and Prison School. The second is a far more recent one, so had better animation, but I find that both styles are still pretty similar. I found the jokes in both very hilarious. If you like GTO, you'd like this as well. 

Very different animes but have one thing in common; the exploitation of panties. In both Prison School and Punch Line, the main character(s) are constantly obsessed with females and in particular, boobs and panties. Both very funny too! 

Has quite the same humor, and a has those "funny" face moments. Laughed quite hard at both of them.  

Both these titles are high school comedies focused on the midadventures of a group of teenage boys. Both shows derive a lot of their humor from the over the top expressions the characters make in response to the absurd situations they find themselves in. Prison School's comedy is more perverted and focused on the gross out humor and Cromartie's humor is more varried getting surreal at some points 

Hilarious, over-the-top school comedy with great animation in similar style. 

Both shows have humor that are overtly sexual in nature. 

A fast-paced and tense plot featured in an unique school setting with memorable characters, especially the young women that are not afraid to rough-house. There are dark-haired females that run the school with a iron fist and a sharp intellect under a serious, haughty demeanor (Mari and Satsuki respectively). Though ‘Prison School’ is more overtly sex-based in its jokes, both anime effectively use fanservice for self-aware humour (rather than just to titillate or exploit). 

u need more ecchi?? watch this. Both will give u the stories that focusing more the "ecchi" aspect. The difference is that, Ishuzoku Reviewers story is more simple and repetitive.
