Young pianists who play a lot of piano. Whether it be during their piano lessons, during a contest, or for fun. They have friendly rivals and friends with similar interests. The young pianists have internal battles of their own they need to over come, but they have help along the way.

It's all about the music.. Both animes are very good and about classic music...

In both shows, music unites two very unlikely friends (the best pupil and the delinquent).

Despite the huge difference in size, they're both series about young people affirming themselves in their chosen fields. Both contrast talent and experience, and both put passion and love for music/go above all other. Also, probably most importantly, they're both incredible at raising the self-confidence to follow our own talents.

Both have that "fresh" feel to it and have themes about nature and the uncovering of what is truly important in life. Both have excellent incorporation of music, though Piano no mori is more focused on it. The artwork is also superb like Mononoke. They both leave you off liberated and refreshed but with little funny quirks that make it realistic.

Movies about children playing music (or singing) to enter a competition. In both, a good student is friends with a delinquent. In both, their music teacher is hiding a dramatic secret. Furusato Japan is more of a group thing though, since they're a whole chorus.

Both talk about musicians trying to improve their playing skills.

A young child from rather poor family reveals extraordinary talents, and some person who used to be a star many years ago puts himher in some high-level competition + both anime have an idea of making one's _own MozartMidoriHelen Keller..so. i chose OVA because this story is short too, and there is a feeling that some great story begins here

They both revolve around music, and they both have a similar feel to it.

How is this similar to Nitaboh? The answer is Music, main character from both anime comes from a poor family, and later on they find out that they are both gifted in one way or another in playing music. Piano no Mori and Nitaboh are two beautiful movies (visually stunning).

Beck and Piano no Mori are both wonderful musical tales about love of music, perseverance, and self-belief.
