Oh yeah
I watched Wolf Children.
Didn't quite hit me in the feels as I thought it might.
It was a ridiculously well made movie.
If I had kids at this point in my life, it definitely would have it me a LOT harder.

Oh? Owari no Seraph jumped into your favorites, neat. I'm still slowly but surely working my way through it. I don't get around to reading manga that much but it is priority 1 as far as manga go for me.
Caaauuuuuse Sawano did the anime's OST, and I want to read it first.

Unfortunately, I've started playing Dark Souls II again. >>
I blame my roommates.

The only musics I've discovered of recent was the opening to Blue Spring Ride, fell in love with that song and it's lyrics (It's about love! One of my favorite things).
What have you been listening to?
^^

Also, I'm probably gonna put off that writing thing for a while.
Am lazy.

That's fine.
I know what it's like to be a student ^^
People should take care of themselves so they can take care of others. I'm actually kind of glad you're prioritizing student things.

As far as the scene thing, hmmmm.
I'll have to write it so that it's as accurate as possible. As everything is perfect in our heads, when I imagine it, it's still in it's ephemera,l shapeless form. But when I write it, it'll become more deliberate and specific.
I'll write it up in a gdoc and give you the link via message when and if I do. ^^

Also, read the first chapter of Ratman after seeing it on your list, I am liking it. It's reminding me a little of One-Punch Man's world.

Well, I suppose I don't need to tell you about how amazing Nagi no Asukara is now. ^^
I adored that show, and I'm really hoping you did too.
There were some iffy moments that used to bothered me, but I remember it so fondly now.
And there's actually a track in the soundtrack that I equated with a scene I wrote so it always makes me tear up.

Mhm, loooooooooved the motorcycle scene with the insert song! That moment of sheer freedom, it was like liquid escapism. Then she asks the most perfect question. Dammit, now I gotta go watch it again.
I was iffy on the ending in, but I liked it.

I'll let you know if I come across a particularly wonderful soundtrack. Though I might just pm you links to notable tracks from animes that could interest you. Cause my friends don't get as excited about soundtracks as I do. >>
Just finished Muv-Luv Total Eclipse, pretty normal composition. No tracks stood out dramatically for me, but a good mech anime. It came fro a VN so the story had potential from the get-go.

Ah yes, the mystery genre. One of my closest friends watched the hell out of Case Closed. As for me, Death Note was all the mystery I needed.
THOUGH, A Game of Laplace looks like it's going to be good.

Ah Yes!
Yoko Kanno did a wonderful job with Terror in Resonance. I ended up looking into the lyrics for the song Von (it is a beautiful love song). Love the Icelandic language.
And that ferris wheel scene!!

Yeah, Hisaishi really brought the Ghibli works to life. I watched a video of him performing live. I swear, he visibly feels every note he plays, it's incredible.

I will often watch an anime cause I recognize the composer's name, so I try to seek out the ones with lovely melodies as well.
It is a shame when you finish an anime, and you can't remember the soundtrack at all.

Oooo, Hyouka, let me know what you think when you're finished. I thoroughly enjoyed that show.
^^

I'm imagining cleaning to Two Steps from Hell now.
It would be a glorious cleansing of dust and dirt!
But I don't really clean, so...
^^' Laundry maybe?

I will sometimes watch anime's just so I have another soundtrack to listen to.
I like to know the context to songs, to know what feelings were meant to be evoked during what particular scene.
Otherwise I feel like I'm cheating.

I did notice you have my favorite composer in your favorite people, so there's no need for me to explain the glorious melodies that are Sawano.

But, there are a couple pianists I do listen to.
Isaac Shepard, Dennis Bell, and Ludovico Einaudi.
Though, Shepard is kind of boring, and there's really only one song of Bells that I like.
But Einaudi is great!

I like to claim I'm a bit of a music nut, but I've never learned much more than guitar. I just listen to an absurd amount of soundtracks, and most of my favorite musicians are composers now. ^^

Rachmaninoff reminds me, a little of Edvar Grieg, though my ears are untrained, I could be off.

And Chopin, funny enough, I heard about him through a game called Eternal Sonata. I believe it has about 7 of his compositions done by a Russian pianist in it.
sinthecyte Jul 9, 2015 3:44 AM
A pianist, ahh, I envy that.
What do you like to play?
