These two series feature quite a lot of violence and bloodshed. That is quite obvious from the first few episodes of each. However, the main similarity has to do with character. The main female character in both series has two sides. The first being easygoing/happy/cute, and the other being a murderer/assailant highly skilled in combat. There are more differences between the two character "sides" in Elfen Lied, as they are more extreme. However, both are highly similar. The tone in both series can be connected as well, although Blood C isn't immediately similar to Elfen Lied. The two contain militaristic themes, and the overarching plot delves into  read more

Most of the show is inscrutable plot exposition, but when it comes time for bitches to die, you get your money's worth, no doubt. It takes quite a bit longer for the mayhem to kick in in Blood-C, but once it does, it's pretty brutal.

Both are set in a remote village where monsters (or vampires) roam around by night. Both early episodes started out very slow until in the middle, things finally took off.

The main character is a swordswoman, who has the task of defend humans by killing monsters. The main character has important links with those monsters. The shows provide an high level of violence and gore, with a plot full of twists.

Gory anime about otherworldly creatures that eat people.

Don't watch Blood-C. It's trash. Just put that here for that reason. Blood+ is a decent, complete anime and perfect for those of you who enjoy modern settings, swords, fantasy and sci-fi intermingling. Lots of family drama, character development and high octane action. Inspired by Blood The Last Vampire - but this is NOT a vampire anime. Enjoy.

If you are looking for a more subtle vampire story, then these two may do it. Note: Don't go into Blood-C expecting it to be like Blood +

both question who u are both live a fake life both are watched and tested both are phycological

Both essentially feature the same episodic development for the majority of the anime: school life moments -> monsters appear -> extras get dismembered in a veritable fountain of blood, splatter and gore for half the episode -> main characters finally decide to fight monster and win within a few minutes -> wash rinse repeat. Blood-C has a somewhat more sensible ending, not necessarily better though.

In my personal opinion, Shikabane reminds me a lot of Blood-C. In both anime series, two young girls work for shrine/cults slaying monsters (Shikabanes and Elder Bairins). The female leads (Makina and Saya) are practically unstoppable. Whilst Blood-C is more psychological, if you enjoy one you will likely enjoy the other what with the similar characters, plot, and gore.

Every Day/Week or whatever will come a monster/guardian, which threatens a whole city aka. the world. In Blood-C it's just one person and in Devil Survivor is no limit of defenders.

Both of these series main character is half-demon half-human who is fighting with demons. There is gore too and ofc plot twist

Much like Blood-C, Akame ga Kill! takes place in a town where nothing is as it appears. Both anime also features a lot of graphic violence.

Both start as a normal slice of life kind of anime but have a unexpected, traumatic ending.

LETS BE AS BLOODY AND GRUESOME AS WE CAN BE! These anime, how some of the most sickest and most gruesome scenes that I have ever seen in an anime. The characters are suppose to defeat and slaughter their enemies with the upmost success, but feel nothing from the destruction and violence. The plot is scattered, with rather irrelevant twists. They literally bring up a twist that they never gave a hint at all. They both involve a character trapped in a fake world, and struggling to escape the destruction with allies on the way, and tragedies in love and the such. The main characters  read more

Both anime have gore and horror tones. Although, Enma Ai (Jigoku Shoujo) is a somewhat demonic force and Saya Kisaragi (Blood-C) fights demonic forces.

Both animes have great animations and qualities, filled wonderful fighting scenes and "what the fck" moments. Easy, enjoyable, short action animes.

Much gore, much blood, no mercy, just killing.

Both have a glasses-wearing and clumsy bishoujo. The monster the main characters fight with are similar. The main characters are a kind of the monsters.

Monster/Angels are approaching a City. I think the plot of the fights are quite similar, but the fate of the protagonists don't resemble at all! And i think the Monster look somehow similar. If you like unique monsters with it own power, than Blood-C and NGE are a good option - well to be honest i recommend NGE.

Bizarre, disturbing, and violent. These anime will leave you with your mouth open and thinking "What the fuck did I just watch?" If you want to feel disgusted and confused, watch these. Both series follow kids fight who must fight off monsters to survive and protect their friends.

Although the tone and atmosphere of these two anime differ, they both have a similar theme at their core. They both deal with outwardly idyllic communities that hold a secret. Blood C has a darker tone while Kujira feels very light in the beginning, but the MCs in both anime are confronted with a world that is darker and more manipulative than they knew.

Dororo is like Blood-C with a brain. They're both about badass warriors slaying monsters and are great for action but Blood-C's characters are terrible and the plot is pathetic. Dororo on the other hand has all that great action with some fantastic visuals, characters, and a great plot. If you liked Blood-C for the bloody monster fights but hated everything else then Dororo will more than satisfy.

Both anime feature extreme horror-themed violence, and both plots consist of a series of attacks by monsters which must be repelled by the series' respective heroins. Beyond that, they both feature very similar plots and general atmospheres with dark, overarching mystery-conspiracies that are slowly revealed over the course of the series. I would go so far as to say that Blood-C appears to have been very heavily inspired by Alien 9, but I cannot find a source that supports that claim.

A girl who lives in a world where demons exist, and is educated on the basis of the beliefs of his people , has an inherited skill, you will soon discover the harsh reality of their world.

Both are fast paced action series with a focus on fighting super natural enemies and also a teenage cast as well too and also broody mc too.

Both have a mystery aspect. Although death note is much more detective, but both have the similar who is the bad guy? idea
report Recommended by TeTime
Both have some action in the story. Both main characters, Saya and Madoka, are similar in weakness, and they want to save their friends and fights for it.
report Recommended by HarissonLA
Both are among the most violent anime of all times, with extremely high level of blood, gore and shocking and dreadful kills. Main characters are powerful just using a sword and they are merciless with their enemies, but they stil pretty good inside.
report Recommended by Disillusion
Although the developments and the targets are completely different, each episode shows at least one folk like creature: the method of appareance of non-human creatures is pretty the same. The stories are set in a rural location.

Something is not as it looks to be. An hidden evil mastermind deceives the main characters, and drives them into deadly combat with mysterious monsters. There are epic fights and so many plot twists, too.
report Recommended by Disillusion
Similar structure. Both are "monster of the week" shows and the episodes of both series consists of a school life part and a random fight. The exact same thing is repeated over and over every week in both shows.

Okay, okay, go ahead and laugh if you so please, but Saya Kisaragi's ditzy, happy-go-lucky personality could mirror Jiyuu Nanohana's personality. They, also, turn into powerful combatants once something triggers them to lose control of their persona and turn dangerous and cool. In Jiyuu's case, that something is a "magical/possessed" eyepatch that basically transforms her into the female version of Yagyu Jubei, and in Saya's case, it is generally resurfacing memories that changes her. Despite there being plenty of differences, I still think Blood-C ironically feels like Jubei-chan the Ninja Girl with considerably more edge and gore in fights, prettier CLAMP art,  read more

Both of these anime are gore fest and contain a lot of violence. The styles are similar and there is also the supernatural element.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
CLAMP was involved with both of these titles: character design in Mouryou no Hako, Characters and story in Blood-C. Both stories build quite slowly, and rather confusingly, until all is revealed in the last two episodes. Both also involve death and dismemberment, Blood-C rather more explicitly.

Cruel shows with bloody fights against powerful and merciless monsters. The main characters try to protect their friends from very strong maneater monsters.

A skilled brunette and tall woman in mortal combats against monsters/demons. The progression of the fights is like a videogame.

Both are some of the funniest anime made in existence. Both anime are basically stuff that you would watch while doing MST3K-style commentary.
report Recommended by Taufiq91
These anime are similar in a few ways. Both female characters have long hair and have a strange, unique power. Although both girls have this power, they are not fully aware of their power's capabilities. So there are a few people in both anime who protect and stand by the main female. Both anime are also set in a high school setting.

Action, drama, gore, and violence are present in both series. Although the MC are different genders, they share the theme of fulfilling duties and dark hero.

sick humor, crazy tastes unpredictible plot.

Both series have a cute girl hunting down so call "monster" to prevent more people from being hunted down. Kannon hunt down Fallen Wolves while Saya hunt down the Old Ones. Similar setting.

If you are a fan of sword wielding female leads with strong personalities and pure badassery in combat, then look no further as this two shows contains the best of both worlds.

Both are vampire,action and supernatural.

This anime doesn't involve gore but it involves some mystery and some possible government involvement. They are also similar in the fact that each of them has a super ditsy female as one of the main characters.
