Nui!'s story may appear childish or overly light-hearted, but I believe that that is the appeal of it. The story revolves around a high school girl named Kaya and her incredible love for her stuffed animals. A love so incredible that it brings her stuffed animals to life. Nui!'s story isn't necessarily deep or emotional, rather it's entertaining and charming. It's an innocent story that makes the reader smile. Another positive quality of Nui! is that it's unique. There are other mangas that boast similar aspects, but I've yet to come across one quite like Nui!. It manages to tell a wonderful story without ever losing sight of its innocent and childish aspect.

The art style in Nui! can best be described as cute. The art is, in my opinion, one of the best aspects of this manga. Everything is very well done. The way the characters are drawn fits the story perfectly and the scenery is beautiful and well-detailed. Every panel on every page is well done and easy to look at. The mangaka obviously put a lot of time and effort into making Nui! look nice, which makes reading it much more enjoyable.

As far as characters go, a group of transforming stuffed animals and a teenage girl who loves them tremendously are certainly different. Despite this, the personalities of the characters don't really stand out. They're not necessarily different from the kinds of characters you could find in most other things of a similar genre. However; the characters are still interesting and lovable in their own way. The manga is short, so there's no time for a lot of character development and back story. The mangaka uses the length well, though, developing characters to some extent without making it seem rushed.

Nui! really is a very enjoyable manga. It's short and innocent, leaving the reader with a smile and a pleasant feeling. I, personally, really enjoy works by this mangaka. I appreciate that she can take a light-hearted, possibly childish story and make it enjoyable and fun. If you're looking for a manga with a deep plot or that's incredibly emotional, Nui! is not the way to go. Nui!'s main appeal is in its simple and upbeat plot and characters. The lively characters and their antics never failed to make me smile. Nui! is definitely worth a read, as well as other works by this mangaka.
