Although both series are different with premises, they do involve food as part of its gimmick. Toriko and Shokugeki no Souma revolves around action with food being part of the main course. Both series' main male protagonist are eager to prove themselves to others. They face off against powerful adversaries in their quest to perfect their skills. Both series adapts battles although their style have great differences. There is an adequate amount of comedy present along with characters of diverse nature.
Delicious food that will make you want to spend all off your money in a 3 star restaurant. Combine that whit a lot of action and some of the most badass monsters I have ever seen. That is why toriko is a masterpiece. Bet believe me the cullinary battles in shokugeki no souma can be as exciting as one of the fights in toriko. Both manga can suck you into their story without even trying, the emotions seem so real that you just cannot ignore them.
