Both mangas have parallel stories of talentless, downtrodden boy who work hard to gain gain strength and improve themselves. in kenichi the main character develops his martial arts skills in a dojo through sheer hard work and will just like ippo who trains in a boxing gym and improves through determination rather than talent. both are superb mangas a lover of one will surely enjoy the other.
They're both about a boring looking guy, getting strong and being inlove with a girl he doesn't confess to for along time.
Action wise, they're pretty awesome and goes into pretty good detail. Also ridiculously funny.
Fight is a familiar word in both series' vocabulary. If you're looking for a series about the journey of a character who gets involved with fighting/martial arts, then these two shows might be worth watching. Both series involves a main character who originally started as a weak underdog but is able to earn the respect of others through their hard work and determination. Both series also deals with various conflicts ranging from powerful adversaries to internal personal struggles.
The story's about weak high school boy who gets picked on by other people. Kenichi is a loner who joins the karate club, but little does he know about how his life is going to change. It's funny and intense.
