Two of the main-story related characters, Tasha and Natsu relate with very similar characteristics and personalities, especially their ability to grow stronger through their emotions, and they both have a partner whom they share a close relationship, like a close family.
The main teams consist of a group that have known each other for a long period of time, at times being quite crude and violent with one another (Almost everytime, this is for comedic purposes), but in each group, the team are as close as family, willing to protect each other with their lives.

Taking place in a fantasy world, Fairy Tail and Witch Hunter uses concept of magic as a prominent theme. The main characters possesses supernatural abilities that enables them to fight their foes. And throughout both series, the main characters encounter dangerous adversaries. There are various guilds/teams in both series with a large cast of characters. Some of the featured arcs/story elements also pits these teams together in battle. Witch Hunter has more of a war-time like atmosphere while Fairy Tail crafts an adventurous story. But despite this, I'd recommend both if you're a fan of fantasy fiction.
