Both are shounen, and involve a delinquent main character. Both also have supernatural happenings and body swapping, although there is a far greater aspect of it in Yamada-kun.
However, the 2 mangas are quite different fundamentally. Yamada-kun focuses on mystery, suspense, adventure while Midori no Hibi is more on slice-of-life and romance.
