Events of the past that heavily plays key roles in the story of the present. It should come to no surprise that both series does a lot of story-building with interconnected events. In fact, there is even the concept of time travel involved. Both series' main male protagonist uses their talent to prevents ominous events from the future; although with very different circumstances. Throughout both series, they face obstacles and experiences that they find difficulty to tackle with once again.

These two manga revolve around time slip and use it as a plot device. For some unknown reasons, the main protagonist in both series finds himself sent back to the past to change the seemingly inevitable outcome. The plot and ideas are also quite similar: time travel, saving a girl, alter the future, and destiny reversal. If you like time travel focused manga with drama here and there, you might like Ore ga Doutei and Erased.

These two manga have essentially the same premise. A guy finds himself in a terrible situation and ends up transported back to the past, where he relives his school days (high school in Ore ga Doutei wo Sutetara Shinu Ken ni Tsuite's case, elementary school in Erased's case). Both manga feature a slight romantic subplot, although (unexpectedly) OreDoutei focuses much more on the romance, with it even having a role in the main plot. The main difference between the two is that OreDoutei is slightly more ecchi-based (while remaining serious), while Erased is more mystery-based.
