In Shingeki no Kyojin and Akame ga Kill!, there's a sense of tragedy especially with the past of the main characters. The male protagonist loses their closest loved ones as result of untimely tragedy and they develop a more determined way to change their world. Both series has colossal beasts that threatens humanity's survival. There is also secret organizations that are built with various purposes as the story unravels itself. Both series are also noticeable for its graphic content to portray the brutality of their storytelling.

Well, I'd say the story of these two are pretty different but they both have killing. SnK is more about killing titans/giants. AgK are about assassins trying to get revenge on the capital. What's similar about them are how the author doesn't care who in the world dies. Have fun reading.

Both have great action points with a dark and bloody atmosphere revolving around tyranny. The government and the Titans compare nicely.

Both Shingeki no Kyojin and Akame ga Kill! revolve around killing, and are very gory shounen manga. Anybody can and will die. There is some differences, however. The story is completely different, and Akame ga Kill! has more comedy. However, both manga have a very similar feeling.
