They are both kind of reverse harems and both girls are brave/strong-hearted in some way. Both also have romance and action!! However SSG:MDK is set in a more modern setting with many of the characters believing they have past lives involving the Shinsengumi (Swordsmen). While AKNY is set more in the historical past with empires/princesses etc.
