I've noticed a few similarities between these two entries when I started watching Ao no Exorcist.
Both involve a long battle between otherworldly monsters and a special organisation of humans made to hunt and kill them. The main cast consists almost entirely of teenagers with special powers, who are also members of each series' respective special "organisations". Additionally, each entry's protagonist wields a sword for battle and has some kind of hidden power within them that makes them really powerful.
