Both protagonists have something about them tat they try to hide for the sake of their lives. Where Kirio is a beta player who hsa more experience within SAO, Rin has recently awoken and found out about his demonic heretidge and their are people who would kill both characters wen they find out about their abilities. In both stories, the main aims of the protagonists are to survive and get stronger so they can protect their loved ones.
Kirito and Rin have the same english dub voice ^^ (cheesy but it suits Rin pretty well)

The main charcater in both of the animes use sword and they both have really strong power.
SAO and Blue Exorcist don't have a lot of things in common but I think everynoe who liked SAO will like Blue Exorcist aswell
Blue Exorcist have really interesting plot twists so I highly recommend to check it out!
