Both reverse-harem type shows with similarly intelligent, practical women at the center. Ouran's a little perkier and funnier (and frankly, better) overall, but if you're a fan of the genre and like watching all those pretty, pretty guys falling in love one by one...
Well, first things first. Both are reverse harems, main protogonist is dense towards romantic relaionships AND they don't bow down to the guys :D If you liked Saiunkoku Monogatari, I think you'll like Ouran just as much, or even more! XD

Both have a headstrong, sensible girl as the main heroine, who is surrounded by her own harem of beautiful bishounen :P
This is similar to Ouran Hig hSchool Host club because there is one main female surrounde by lots of pretty, important, and strong boys. Haruhi is a bit like Shuurei because they're both poor in a place where there are only rich people, and (mainly) rich boys.

Both Haruhi and Shurei come from poor backgrounds, but work hard in the elite/male high society in order to achieve their dreams. Both are very good reverse harems.
They are both stories revolving a smart girl that got into a world filled with guys. They are both surrounded by unreasonably rich guys.
