The relations between the characters are quite similar: in both anime we have the bully (Haruhi/Mariya), the one being bullied (Mikuru/Kanako), and the silver-haired smart kuudere who just doesn't care (Yuki/Matsurika).
Also, both series are set at school and have comedy and parody.
