Both animes deal with death and humanity, morals and choices. They give some insight into the human psyche - why people make the choices that they do and the consequences of those actions - both physically and emotionally.

They both deal with death and the afterlife. Both have elevators that take the souls of people places. Both have suicide stories. But Colorful is way better and it's a movie not a series. Colorful also has better feels and I cri everytim. But yeah, they are similar and if you like Death Parade then you will like Colorful.

Somewhat slow but interesting stuff. Both portray the afterlife and bluntly tell the viewers to value their lives, be it through singular episodes about suicide victims or experiencing life after a failed attempt of such action. While Death Parade is heavily expressionistic and behavioristic, Colorful remains rather calm throughout its duration, often trying to let us know of the main character's thoughts. Some appeal of the former can be found in the latter and vice versa, and although the means differ greatly, they both end up in the same place afterwards.

Both shows have a theme of what happens after death. Decim's idea of having a fulfilled life in Death Parade is similar to the moral from Colorful. Both explore a more mentality side of things as opposed to an action.

Stories set in the afterlife that explore the themes of death and morals.

Both deal with the human psyche a lot and discussion of pain that people can feel with regards to certain events. They both deal with the after life, but in the case of colorful the character is reincarnated. There is judgement placed on characters in both anime via a 'judge' of sorts. Lastly, both discuss very serious topics surrounding death and the decisions that led to them.
