Both are zombie animes,other than that these two are completley different.Sankerea is about trying to prolong a zombie girls life while Highschool of the Dead is just about escaping from the zombie infestation.But you dont find many zombie animes so if your a zombie fan like me you'll enjoy both.
Sankarea and Highschool of the Dead are both zombie fanservice. Enough said.

Both about zombies and contain a lot of ecchi moments.
The blood amount on both is large but not in a very horrid way :)
Also on both the male protagonist is loved by more then one female.
It's a zombie show with some fan service. Sankaera is more emotional but it gives off the same vibe.
