Not as bloody as Hellsing, but if you like guns and stupid action, it's there. The animation style of the two shows is quite similar as well

Both have strong female lead characters and strong characters you can really get attached to. both are hyper violent and gun happy animes.
if you like hellsing, give black lagoon a try, youl get the same bloodrush, and attachment to characters as you do in hellsing
Both have amoral, almost invincible, dual gun wielding main characters who are kind of anchored by another, relatively less screwed up main character. Also, guns. Lots and lots of guns. And explosions. And guns. Watch these shows for the action, they really knock it out of the park in that department. I myself prefer Hellsing Ultimate because its supernatural elements provide for better entertainment value in terms of action.
Black lagoon is filled with extremely strong content and does not shy away from showing/ telling you how it is.
its also extremely filled with amazing action and borderline mental characters that are impossible not to love for instance Revy one of the main protagonists. its an awesome dark roller coaster ride that you wont want to get off of and is one of my personal favorites.

Action. While hellsing brings blood. Black lagoon brings smoke, guns and drugs to the table. Action lover should already have watched this. The whole anime is setting up the screwed up crew of Bounty hunter liker characters with new jobs and piles of corpses. It's an adult anime and it shows ! Not for gore but fore the amount of swearing in the Dub. Yes i reccomend that you watch this IN DUB ! It's cast of diffrent stereotypes is hardly captured in the Sub as it is in the Dub ! Both are dark, very violent seinen anime set in the 1990's with a ton of action and some drama on the side. In particular, Revy is basically a human, female Alucard, in that they are both very ruthless, sadistic, ill-tempered people who dual-wield pistols and won't hesitate to slaughter anyone who gets in their way, but are also very loyal to the few people they care about and despise traitors. Balalaika also looks very similar to Integra, though personality-wise they're quite different.
The main difference between them is that "Hellsing" is very clearly supernatural, while "Black Lagoon" is completely ordinary (a rarity for action anime).

Similar: Both shows are packed with plenty of action scenes and both MCs use guns as the primary weapon of choice. Both MCs are badass and fall under the category of Anti-Hero while showing little to no mercy. Both shows are violent by showing the depiction of blood and gore.
Differences: Hellsing Ultimate deals with supernatural elements like vampires and monster while Black Lagoon focuses more on pirates and mercenaries living free and trying to survive in the cruel world. Hellsing Ultimate also has its elements of shock and horror where Black Lagoon doesn't.
Overall: Both shows are great, but Hellsing edges out Black Lagoon in terms
