Both these movies serve as theatrical sequels to TV anime and have specifically one character as it's main focus and are dedicated to developing them further. Although Haruhi no Shoushitsu has a slower pace then Rebellion, both are still fantastic character pieces and are definitely worth the watch.
They share certain similarities with their plot points, twists, and changing of realities, though I dare say The Disappearance of Haruhi is far less heart wrenching, but a lot more fun. Both are beautiful movies that I recommend anyone who’s seen both original series’s watch.

Both are mysteries with the idea of wtf happened to the world? what's going on? and why is the world so different?
both of them end with a major twist and a satisfying answer to the mystery. and both of them have top tier directing.
although if I was to pick, I think the disappearance movie is easily the better one out of the two. specially because of the bad pacing/info dump at the end of rebellion.
