Slow Start

K-On and Slow Start are both works about friend's influence over one's own life, and use their directing and writing for the primary purpose of making the viewer feel the warmth and purity of the protagonist's bonds.
The characterization in K-On is much more subtle and nuanced than Slow Start, which is fairly overt in every element; from the moment the cheery opening plays, with its bright, pastel visuals, the show's intentions are obvious, however, this does not prevent, and in fact, assists in, conveying strong themes and emotions.
