They both have an air of innocence about the main female character. The whole idea that love can conquer all is a theme throughout both series. They both have a fair amount of fan service in them. However, Ai Yori Aoshi has a bit of a harem twist that Chobits doesn't really have at all. They're both well-animated, touching love stories that I recommend to anyone that likes to watch romantic comedies.

Ai yori Aoshi is Similar to chobits in terms of how the anime gives of a feeling of Innocence. Both the female lead seems to be very gullible while the male lead seems rather shy and delusional at first.
The female lead of each show (Aoi and Chii) both have a similar feeling of innocence to them, both care for the male lead of each show, and both happen to have the same voice actress (Michelle Ruff).
Also, both shows are just very sweet and romantic, and Hideki and Kaoru are both somewhat similar personality wise, and both happen to "find" the female lead in a sense.
