I think skip beat also shows realistic development of love (aka not insta-love). Although I Kyoko the main character in skip beat I feel is much stronger heroine, she does share a very naive view of love deep down, which is similar to Tsubaki. They both learn about themselves and recognise their immaturity and mistakes in given situations.
The hero's Ren and Kyota both have histories that are unique and they contribute a lot to the story rather than just being eye-candy.
I strongly recommend reading the manga of both series as well as watching the anime.
