Both take more grounded, realistic takes on the struggles of being a Japanese idol.

These two shows do not fear of showing the dark side of the entertainment industry without any sugarcoating. Idols and idol culture are pivotal elements in their plots. That being said, Perfect Blue offers more gritty and realistic spectacle in a movie format, while "Oshi no Ko", a TV series, has a lot of lighthearted moments that might feel a little bit childish for people specifically looking for pure realism. Nevertheless, both series don't try to hide anything what is wrong with the entertainment industry and the way society perceives it.

Everything you get from Oshi no Ko is here (except the reincarnation part): stalker, media pressure & evil reporting, sex scandal, unhealthy competitive idol world, mental health, and many more. All the problems are here, just in a more serious dark way. Oshi no Ko will seems like childplay. WARNING sensitive content, not for everyone!

Although the themes and objective of the story are different, the story itself is very similar to the prologue, although it focuses much more on the darker themes

If you want a less romanticized and dramatic version of Oshi no Ko Perfect blue is up your alley.

Both anime criticizes and have realistic approaches to the idol Industry. Perfect blue is a movie and it's older but, perhaps better than Oshi no ko, puts a rather exciting and harsh criticism of the idol culture that will make viewers worried about their favorite celebrities. By the way, I also recommend watching Oshi no ko, for its graphics, characters, and the wonderful music.

Both deals about the dark side idol pop culture(yes, with stalkers involved). Perfect blue centers around a single idol's perspective while Oshi no ko continues to expand the perspective of how young kids are also affected in the entertainment industry.

Oshi no Ko Really reminded me of Satoshi Kon's Perfect blue, Both explore the lives of idols in an enviroment full of lies, deception, and greediness, If you love one of these two, check out the other.

Both Perfect Blue and Oshi no Ko touch on the toxicity of idol culture and the very harsh reality its performers face due to the industry standards. Even so, one of them is far better animated, written by a highly beloved author and received universal critical acclaim, while Oshi no Ko is written by Aka Akasaka and thus isn't as harsh on its critique

Both have very similar themes, although Perfect blue is more on the mystery/thriller side. However they both deal with the issues in the entertainment industry, and society's conception of those working in such fields.

- Both portray the lives of idols and the trials they are forced to face in the process - Both take a heavy focus on the theme of “lying” and “one’s true self” - Both feature deranged stalkers who live exclusively for the illusion of their ‘oshi’ - Both can get extremely graphic and disturbing despite starting off with seemingly harmless premises - Both show how the line between what is the “truth” and what is “fiction” can become blurred in the entertainment industry, especially with actors

Both are about the dark world behind idols, Perfect Blue explains it better in my opinion.
