Wacky, fast-paced, and cartoony scifi-comedies with strong themes about adolescence, love, and belonging. FLCL has far more depth as a character study while Luluco is more of a pure comedy, but on a general level they are extremely similar. They share some key staff as well.

+ Crazy, comedic, cartoonish shows with a rather absurd, bewildering and fast-paced story.
+ Both feature a very normal protagonist who lives in a town where nothing ever happens.
+ Then an attractive, mysterious being shows up and turns their world upside down.
+ The main aliens share the same voice actor and sound similar with their hilarious nasal pitch.
Both contain incredible action with madness everywhere, While FLCL spends time developing its characters and UPL has a more palpable and classic story, they give off a very similar feel.

While FLCL and Uchuu Patrol Luluco follow different storylines, the feeling of both are very similar. Both anime have unique art styles and both anime have crazy and weird moments, and will make you go “What?” and will also make you laugh a lot. I highly recommend both of these anime, but Uchuu Patrol Luluco has shorter episodes than FLCL.

Fast-paced, weird, funny and sometimes heart-warming very short anime made by many of the same people in the main staff who carried over from Gainax on to Trigger.
