Definitely hits it in terms of 'zany non sequitur,' with Punch Line seeming to reach (over-reach?) just a little bit more when it comes to plotting and consistency--but familiarity might skew my perception when I try to look for the same try-hard attitude in FLCL. Regardless, "accept the mystery" if you're into a wild ride with some likable characters. FLCL is a magnum opus of ADHD anime, and Punch Line definitely takes a lot of cues from it. This two anime shows are both comedy. Both of them has energy, they are fast paced, they are crazy. Of course, someone can say that FLCL is mecha, but we all know that it's not that kind of anime, it's action and comedy first of all. And Punchline is also comedy anime with a lot of action within. If u liked Fooly Cooly you should watch Punchline and sure if you liked Punchline you should watch FLCL

Moreso in the beginning of Punchline in relation to FLCL, but both have seemingly random events that occur eventually form a narrative. FLCL's narrative is much more broad and more focused on concluding thematically, however, while Punchline focuses more on explaining the events that occur in-universe.

Both are comedies about a boy meeting girls of different types. Naota in FLCL and Yuuta in Punch Line, both main character have super power resulting from sex impulse. FLCL is more absurd and difficult to understand, but it tells a simple story about adolescence. Punch Line is more dramatic.
