The main character lives in a time of war where many adventures are foretold to be great and interactions with humorous characters giving the similarity of a typical action adventure packed anime for all shonen fans to enjoy with a hint of fan service of course ^_^

-Tatsumi & Esdeath greatly resemble Elen & Tigre, in terms of how they look as well as their relationship dynamic.
-Elen's role as a war maiden is very similar to Esdeath's role as the top imperial general.
-The harem's centered around Tatsumi and Tigre are quite similar in the broad cast of women, including some who are bitter enemies with each other.
