Plays. Intelligent plays are required down these ends. With Great Pretender and NGNL being about games, or at least, some variant of games you have to be the very best at in order to survive a wild and wacky world.
Great Pretender focuses more on real-world aspects of being a con artist as opposed to NGNL's isekai gamer moments. However, they both do still share an oddly large number of significantly satisfying moments where the protagonist always has something up their sleeve to pull through in tight situations, or something similar.
Both are pretty good, flashy anime that only know how to have fun at the end

No Game No Life is very similar to Great Pretender in that they both have lots of unexpected twists and turns. I never quite knew how things were going to turn out but they certainly never disappointed either. They also both have pretty unique art styles. Although No Game No Life has more of a fantastical art style, it's certainly just as colorful and easily recognizable as Great Pretenders. They both have very memorable openings as well if that's important to you :)
