Both are modern anime adaptations of classic manga from the 1980's. They both have a protagonist, who use their superhuman abilities to fight strong evil creatures (vampires in JoJo, zoanoids in Guyver). You get plenty of action with blood and gore in these shows. The big difference between the two is that JoJo is more supernatural, while The Guyver is sci-fi. If you like one, you will enjoy the other.
