Sasha still being nothing more than a gluttonous girl, and her backstory doesn't excuse her behavior, (she was worried about how the foreigners were stealing their food, what makes you think she wanted to be associated with the town she came from?) and doesn't show her actual motivations.

Backstory gives you the tools to UNDERSTAND the behavior of the characters, they are not made to develop them.
There's a lot of titles with good characters, I'd spend hours explaining why they are so good.
"Backstory =/= character development" Despite we saw flashbacks of Mikasa, Sasha and Erwin, that doesn't get rid of the fact that their personalities are defining by:

Despite he wasn't in the realm, he let the officials do whatever they want, and was more worried about capturing Eren than he was on ruling his kingdom... wow, such a fantastic political system... but hey! At least it expanded the world.

Honestly now.. I thought the ending was really bad lol... Tatsumi died, I can understand how that happened but Leone didn't need to, no matter how you look at it, it could've been prevented. It wasn't satisfying either... I guess it was because I haven't been in a situation that the protagonist dies 1 episode before the end... Anyways, you should try Golden Boy, the anime was aired in 1996 so the art isn't up to par, Ben-To, Campione, asu no yoichi, and World God only knows.
lol.. It's actually been a while since I last seen it... I just forgot to add it to my list haha... and the new movie for it isn't that good actually, it's choppy and rushed. They should've made it into like a 4 movie series. Angel Beats or baka to test was pretty good though.
I actually think that the second season for Fate/Zero is better than the first, the twelfth episode being the last episode of the first season. I would keep up with it for another 4 episodes, if you still don't like it then you should just drop it. And IKNO!!! D: THAT 23rd episode of Akame ga kill doe QQ. Btw you should check out mayo chiki :P
