Came across this a while ago and bookmarked it cause its pretty funny. Came on MAL just now. Remembered your enthusiasm for the show. Thought you might enjoy it.

I kind of like it. Its been so long since I saw these characters animated. And thankfully we've moved on from the Golden Arc ( the 3 recap movies weren't necessary at all).
The plot is fantastic. I really like the new characters. They're very interesting and have depth. The female commander of the royal army has doubts about religion and is conflicted between her morality and sadistic nature. Her assistant looks harmless but is actually very cunning. The curly blonde haired prostitute has a good heart but is selfish and a coward.

Berserk has a lot of problems tho. Most of the hate is centered around the use of CGI and I agree. Its very hard to become used to it. The animation is just so slow and jerky. I feel like I'm playing a high end video game on my low spec-ed laptop.
The last episode I watched mostly consisted of a big battle and the animation was terrible.
CGI worked in one of the early episodes where guts swung his sword horizontally at a group of enemies and you could really feel the impact behind his swing as he tore through them. Unfortunately CGI doesn't work for fast paced action.

The OP and ED themes also don't fit. The OP could be used for any cookie-cutter shonen. The ED is a bit better but would be more suited to a slice of life anime. The 1997 ones were much better. Objectively speaking they were pretty bad (no rhythm , so much Engrish) but they added to the haunting and eerie feel of the show.

And don't even get me started on how misplaced the comic relief feels (to be fair it's also in the manga, so they didn't have much choice)

thnkx for the feedback. but thats a tough hurdle for me atm :S il share when i have gained adequate ability for expression through words. You just said u had a thirst to express. i guess ill have to start from there. finding some meaning behind my words is something i look forward to acquiring. I think this helped. thnkx :p
Also i finally remembered why i didn't write even though i had alot of interest in it. Just a few days ago my brother took out an old diary that i wrote back when i was 6 or something. The content took my thoughts way back. It dug up some memories that i had buried deep inside. old scars i guess. I remembered i had the traumatic experience of my family reading out the diary in front of my relatives and laughing for 3 whole days on some gathering. I had decided then and there that i would never ever write my thoughts on paper. The sense of insecurity that i felt from others reading my thoughts was so intense that it caused a change in me which i think was for the better at time. ahh i got super morose after remembering that for an entire day :|

thanks for replying. no, i mostly read but do keep track of ppl who write. another skill for self progression. im normally envious of ppl who can though. its something i feel as too much of an effort to start/continue. thats why asked the question initially. how did or rather why did u start writing initially would be my next question. might give me some pointers O___O if i ever urged myself to work on it
