What do you mean? What did you find? All you have to search for is "All in one Death Note" and it should come up. It's a really fat softback book.

Well, I'm sure you can find it for free, but you need to be sure it's well translated. Nothing kills a good series more than bad translations. ESPECIALLY on a text heavy monster like Death Note; it's critical.

I'd say Ebay or Amazon (as much as I hate the latter) are the best deals. I can't imagine finding it at Wal-Mart or a book store though. But it's always cheaper online anyway. It's a nice display piece too, and not really hard to read at all. It was fun. VERY useful too, because when I needed or wanted to check back in past chapters, it was all still the same book, haha.

Well I actually saw the anime first, and I liked it so much I started reading the manga concurrently and man, that ruined the second arc for me entirely in both forms. The second arc in the manga is VERY complicated and it's easy to miss a lot (but I do appreciate the word it put in to make it all make sense. It doesn't flow as well as earlier stuff, but it works in a logical way and I always respect that. I fall in love with shows that pay attention to detail) and the anime makes NO sense because of how abridged it is. Imagine doing BOTH of those at once, your first time. @-@

It was only recently I sat down and fully invested in the manga and that once that was over, I got curious to check out the anime again; to see how the second arc in particular would play out for me now that I actually understood it. And.... it was worse than ever, haha.

Anyway, check out the "All in one" Death Note manga if you can. It's LITERALLY just one massive book and that was how I read it. It's easy to collect and fun to read. And it's like... 30 bucks total. 12 volumes for 30, cant beat that. It even has the extra bonus chapter at the end.

I hope you've read the manga, because the anime absolutely butchers the second half by rushing through it. It's why I wound up rating it so low, it makes ZERO sense. And I had just finished the manga before re-watching it and knew what was going on (the second arc is a bit overly complicated in the manga too), and it still made ZERO sense.
I feel that's responsible for a lot of the hatred too. I mean, if people think Near just pulls things from nowhere, that's the anime, not the manga. I thought the same thing where he realizes it's Mikami acting as Kira. In the manga, it shows hours and hours of time lapse as he watches tons upon tons of footage all at once, before noticing 'that one guy' in a lot of things.

In the anime, it's literally "Ah yes, it must be HIM. I read the script."
