Ah, no worries, man. I just remembered that you were the one that suggested Solanin to me and it was really incredible. I don't know if I would have come across it otherwise.

One of my friends has been watching Hunter x Hunter; I've heard of it but haven't seen it and know next to nothing about it, but he's been enjoying it. I should give it a try at some point.

I had a phase where I got into some American comics but I don't really read them or keep up with them anymore. I still keep up with most of the manga I've been collecting, though some series are out of print now and are harder to track down. I've been reading more manga these days than watching anime. It's just easier to access and relax with compared to anime, sometimes I feel like watching anime just takes up so much time. And more so than that, I've been playing more visual novels.

I'm trying to think of some manga I've read fairly recently that stood out to me. Pink did. Same with Twin Spica. They're both kind of in the slice of life genre. I just remember really being touched by those two in particular when I look up at my bookshelf. Otherwise I'm currently checking out Outlaw Star and I'm pleasantly surprised by it. Also I'll recommend you check out Spice and Wolf as I see it on your PTW list; I still remember it fondly and I think I might rewatch it soon.

It's good to hear from you! Sorry that my response was on the later side, haha. I've been doing well, thanks. Hope things are doing great. :D

Dude, I know it looks like you haven't been on in a while, but I wanted to thank you for recommending me Solanin a long time ago. I read the first chapter on your suggestion, enjoyed it, then forgot about it until last year when I bought the manga on a whim.

I was reading the first chapter and I remember thinking, "Wait, I've read this before... or at least this part of it." Then I remembered your suggestion.

Solanin was amazing, man. If MAL would allow more manga favorites, I'm sure I'd squeeze it in there. Thank you.

And regardless if you get this or not, I hope things are going well for you. :D

Hi.
Godot201 Mar 4, 2011 5:21 PM
Awh it's cool man!

Sadly I'm not in Uni yet. Should be this September if I get the grades though!

I'll definately give Texhnolyze a shot man :) I don't mind depressing stuff if I'm in the right mindset for it like. And I think I'd be OK with NHK. It's romance I get touchy over mainly - saying that I loved Toradora. I guess now I'm single maybe I can see some sort of dream of my own in there? lol.

Sadly i'm not dubstep fan myself. Visual Kei is my major love aside metal. If i'm honest, ahead of metal now. I've got really sick of the scene lately. Nothing new or creative is coming out of it at all.

Eureka 7? Awh man I hated that show lol. It got dropped pretty early for me lol.

PSN? Awesome okay then well I'm "Mikami201" :) I'll add you when I next on for sure man. I'm gonna start watching Black Butler soon - but I've been rewatching the (perfect) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex lately.

It's nice to be in touch again bud :)

Bump! Did you see my below post bro?

vvvvvvvvvv ! ;)
Godot201 Feb 5, 2011 5:12 PM
Ah I'm sorry it's taken me a month to reply! I'm sorry you're not in the best place at the moment man - I'm sure things will work out for the best soon! I'm not in a great place with my sixth form, but come July I'll be gone - that thought comforts me!

Yeah, I really loved Toradora! - And I have the first two volumes of Texhnolyze - thanks for the depression warning though! It sounded good.

Ah Kamikaze Girls is fantastic - but i'm an Anna Tsuchiya fan bigstyle, so the fact she has a lead role means I'll be all over it anyway! Her music is great - but it's not near metal lol. I doubt it's your thing, if I'm honest.

Genshiken is great. I've not seen NHK!, but I think you'll enjoy Genshiken a lot. S1 has way less romance, and thus gets a better score from me - but both series' are fantastic if you're into comedy!

So on PSN now you're just 'silentsennin'? I'll add it tommorow! :)

Do you have an alternative form of contact man? An e-mail address or something? I rarely check my MAL comments, if i'm honest. I'll keep an eye out for you replying though from now on buddy :)

Hope to get back in good contact soon man! I miss our discussions and chats!

Aw man sucks that all your time is taken up - but at least you're busy! Hope you had a good xmas and new year man - and hopefully this year we'll get a chance to catch up again this year!

As for anime etc., I enjoyed Toradora! and, on the film front; Kamikaze Girls, and, Memories of Matsuko. Those fims are live action though. Amazing though <3

You been watching anything new lately?

I read the first chapter and a little of the second of Solanin - it was too noisy to concentrate in the living room x.o; - but I really liked it! I seriously plan to finish it ASAP, hopefully tomorrow since it's a quick read. :D

Okay, thank you for letting me know. I'll definitely keep Clannad in mind. I was kind of in the mindset of, "How does anyone expect this to look good?" in a way because of the art, I suppose, but saying that you just judged it by the rating is also helpful, because that's also what has sparked my interest. And I don't mind slice-of-life stuff, it's alright. So I'll definitely give it a try. ^^

Wah, anime conventions are fun! Totally go when you get the chance! Otakon's... the second biggest con in the USA? I think? From Wikipedia? Too lazy to check, rofl. But this will be my... seventh time, I think. I've been going to Otakon since 2003. It's pretty much the only con I've been to outside of my college's little con. So tiny, what a drastic change! XD

But it's so fun to see the cosplay, all the anime goods, all the different anime screenings and the guests... Jerry Jewell is gonna be at Otakon this time around and I'm psyched because he's my favorite English VA~ <333!! Totally gonna get his autograph!! I met Kappei Yamaguchi two years ago when it was his first trip to the USA and to Otakon and he's my favorite VA evar~ <3333 But I got his autograph too and had my picture taken with him too. It was awesome! :D!

Higurashi... Good God. It's AMAZING. I went into it with the expectation and thought of, "Great. Another horror anime that won't freak me out, awesome. What is it with Japanese series not freaking me out, just giving me weird thoughts and slightly disturbed feelings?" but I watched the first arc and I was hooked. I was smiling throughout the first few episodes because I was thinking, "Oh MAN was I wrong about this, this is AWESOME and I am definitely freaked out." Especially with all the pieces of the story gradually connecting together.
Freaking fantastic. I'm almost done and I can't wait to finish it.
CardcaptorKitty Jul 28, 2010 2:52 PM
I know, I know! I was really hoping Nagato would respond differently to Kyon, and I think I was expecting it most when Kyon kept asking Nagato what was up... and that was it! after everyone decided to go home from deciding their summer plans. But I agree, I can see why she didn't.

And yes, I love Confidential Confessions! And I do like those kinds of manga. It's like, the stuff average people would do, and get in deep shit for it. Like the drug one! Or the dating old guys for money one! And stuff. Stuff that I've thought about once or twice or more - heck, everyone has if they haven't done it/experienced it already - but stuff I will probably never wind up doing. Plus, they're all like one shots, but I did find myself interested in the characters as much as their stories. The first one, the suicide one, was amazing. That definitely got me hooked.

And thanks for the suggestions. I've wondered if there's anything similar out there.

And glancing through your list, I see you've watched Clannad. Everyone - or at least, it feels like everyone - has seen this and given it praise. What makes it amazing? At least to you, anyway? It just looks... boring by description and by the random artwork I've seen, but perhaps I'm just being overly judgmental? I'd like to think it's that way. XD

I'm already watching over twenty series but WHATEVER. I'm trying to finish them before Otakon this weekend but that probably won't happen. Alas, I need my rest, and cons are a lot of work/exercise. :P
CardcaptorKitty Jul 27, 2010 9:05 PM
LOL! Yay! But you'd get sooooo trashed to watch it all in one sitting, but that'd be so funny. "Kyon-kun, denwa!!"

Yeah, I have thoughts - WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE IT LONGER - LOL JK. I seriously didn't think I was gonna make it on the third one because I got halfway through, paused it, and took a ten minute nap before my Mom woke me up and was like, "What are you doing?" But then I was suddenly energized to finish the rest. :P

It's an interesting idea, doing the same thing eight times, but you have to numb yourself for one viewing into thinking, "Oooooh, what kind of outfits will we see today?!" and such. But it was a little *too* much, I will admit. And it was self-inflicted pain, yet somehow I enjoyed it. Maybe I'm a masochist? Haha!

But as for death threats/thoughts/mass serial killings/hitlists, no, I honestly I can say I have none. Yourself? :)

Wow. It's been a while since I checked the comments here haha. I never scroll down I guess.

Well my exam is on Monday- cant say i'm looking forward to it either. Maths Mechanics. Not gonna be enjoyable at all. However, i'm gonna work my ass off this Weekend, and we'll see how it goes.

And dude, it's never to late to start a band, i'd seriously suggest you do it. Give it a shot, get gigging. Never know what could happen.

As for the Facebook thing- don't worry bro. lol. I can understand.

And happy holidays to you too man. Hope you had a great christmas, and hope the New Year was great too. Get anything cool for Christmas?
