Let me just say that your forum sig is so relaxing. It's like watching two kittens lick each other or two puppies snuggling *right click & saved*

Hey no problem and thanks for recommending it to me! It really was an interesting series and I hope the next season is just as compelling if not more. I mean a lot of the times it was obvious what was going to happen, but it was the HOW that made it interesting.

Apologies for the delay. Cute profile pic, btw ;D

Yea, Kanon is difficult to rate. It depends a lot on your personal enjoyment/interpretation of the genre.
I've played all of Key/Visual Art's VNs so far, so when I watched the anime I was expecting a delicious pie of heavy DRAMA. But they decided to take things softly. At first I was "wtf dude?" but then started enjoying it... 'till the final arc.
They built a really good setup along the series but when it came to the final couple of episodes failed to deliver it.
You know when you're left with that feeling of "Oh, that was it? Huh. OK"?
In terms of tragedy the VN is way better, but the anime was still pretty enjoyable, despite the stupid ending.

Aha!
Then, you actually were disappointed by it or you just didn't enjoy Shinichiro choice? :P
What annoys me is that some people say TT is "BAD" just because the ending wasn't with the girl they were cheering for (Noe) -- honestly, nobody cheers for that other girl whom I can't even remember the name. LOL
Unfortunately the hate around this anime is absurd because of this. Even though it had a great storyline, interesting characters and a nice climax. A shame, indeed. I can't even remember how many arguments I've enrolled because of this :P

Oh, I see you're watching ARIA.
Keep it up! Hahahahah
It may be kinda... BORING at the beginning but you'll get used to the pacing and -hopefully- enjoy the most adorable and heartwarming story in the entertainment industry history!

I just finished watching NGNL and I thought it was good. I would rate it about the same as SAO. They are really quite different so it's difficult to compare the two, but I did think it was good. SAO is based on people stuck in a life or death game where NGNL is based on people in a different world playing games based on math and intellect so it's hard for me to say one was better than the other. I thought it was funny and thats always something I appreciate about anime that can be serious at times as well. The only problem I have with SAO and NGNL alike is that girls are just crawling at their feet all the time. It gets a little annoying after awhile especially when it doesn't progress.

Sure I'll give you a message as soon as I finish watching it ;) You definetely made me very curious about this series :D
gi-oanna Jul 15, 2014 7:59 AM
Thanks a lot hun! SAO definetely sucks. The characters are uninteresting and flat, Kirito manage to win even when he's about to die... Wtf...

I'll add this anime on my plan to watch list and I hope to get to watch it soon. At the moment I'm watching Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero is the next I'm planning to finish. But I'll give a try to No Game No Life as well. Maybe this would be the next anime on my list ;) Thanks for the recommendation!

Cheers and have fun too! :D

Yeap, SAO sux.
gi-oanna Jul 14, 2014 4:31 AM
I agree with your SAO review, hahaa =)
Tyler117 Jul 13, 2014 3:42 PM
Do you want me to watch this because you like it and it's good or are you just setting me up lol? I read the description and it sounds good so I suppose I'll give it a shot!
xbobx Jul 1, 2014 11:55 AM
Hey there!
Sorry for the delayed reply.
It's a pretty good compatibility, indeed. :P
Huhm, given that you've watched Air, Clannad, AB and LB and gave it all a nice score, I'd recommend to you without a doubt, Kanon. (The remake from KyoAni - 2006)
Its story is from Key/Visual Art's, just like all of these I mentioned, and the mastermind behind it is Jun Maeda as well :P

Also, since 5cm/s is your top #1, I'd also suggest that you watch Beyond The Clouds, The Promised Place and Hoshi no Koe. Awesome movies by Shinkai, that IMHO are way better than his most recent ones like Kotonoha and Hoshi wo ou Kodomo...

I know what you mean. There are a lot of anime where characters will get immense power from nowhere, but sometimes those anime have the strongest message. I think SAO was trying to relay a message that a persons will and love is stronger than anything. Although anime is just some silly drawings the idea that runs the story can have a powerful effect. Some even have some very good life lessons, but it all depends on if you try to look deeper into the story.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
