Well its too early to tell if its as good as Death Note, but its sure playing out really good so far. It has a very similar feel with it, the way its a battle of minds between two very smart people, except that the good guy is a surgeon instead of a detective, and he has his own personal reasons for trying to find the serial killer. I dont want to say too much, because I feel that you'll enjoy it better if you see for yourself. The only really big difference between Monster and Death Note is that Monster doesn't have any supernatural aspects like Death Notes and shinigamis and stuff like that, its very realistic.
Im glad you asked. I have plenty, but the first one I always recommend is my personal favorite, Paranoia Agent. Its only 13 eps long, but its a wild psychological ride that will have you questioning reality. I also suggest anything made by Satoshi Kon, the guy who made Paranoia Agent, as all his works are pretty similar in the way that they mess with your mind. And you might also find Serial Experiments Lain interesting, but it goes at a much slower pace, so you have to be prepared for that.
Also, I see you liked Death Note. Then you would probably also like the anime Im currently watching, Monster. They're pretty similar in terms of psychological drama, except Monsters characters are actually likable.
Thats pretty interesting, not many people I know has anime preferences like that. Well, I cant think of any anime like that off the top of my head that you havent already seen, as Im not really that big into romances because I find them too predictable.
Im more into straight up comedies, or psychological animes with good plots. But like I said, Ill pretty much watch anything.
Nothing really in particular, I like all anime really and will watch anything that keeps me entertained. Ive yet to drop an anime, as if I see an anime that I dont think Ill like, I dont bother starting it as I have plenty others that I can watch.
